Can we still achieve a #1 seed?

It's possible, but not likely. We'd have to basically win all remaining home games, and all road games but 1 of USCe or Bama. And at this point I just don't see that happening. I am not so sure we don't win all remaining home games. A&M or AU either one could beat us at home, even UK if they get on a roll. I honestly am hoping for 6-2 to finish out. I think that'd be best case at this point.

Put us in a bracket with UNC. I think, on a neutral floor, both teams rested & equal health, Vols beat them. The return trip from Hawaii & CH being lit was the game earlier

Bad matchup for us with their size with their 10th year senior Bacot....

I think this team does not deserve a 1 or 2 seed. The talent is there but they are not that good of a team. Miss St. and aTm exposed the character of this team. All you have to do is hit them in the mouth and watch them wilt.
What about Kansas who lost on the road by 29 and UNC who lost to an avg Syracuse team on the road? It happens.

I don’t line the matchup w UNC as their guards are more athletic and quicker. But, you play whomever is in your bracket in March so…. I’m so hopeful for a final four and championship this yr.

My observations are about UT. If I am coaching against them I would tell my players to be aggressive as possible. That is what worked against UT when they played Miss St., USCe, and aTm. UT will beat teams that are not aggressive.

I’m not sure about “expose”. TN has traditionally not been a very good AWAY team

IMO if we fall below a 5 seed we are not making F4. That is the ultimate goal.

That’s what I’m saying. Despite Syracuse’s center being undersized, they beat them. Considering Aidoo Awaka and Estrella are both bigger than Brown, size shouldn’t be the reason we would lose to UNC.

The common theme for when this team has lost this year is a big-boy big who pushes our bigs around. Bacot is that.

Well I think some of that could be that they played a lot of zone? Whenever Bacot Caught the ball in the middle he often had 2-3 defenders around him and got the ball stripped when Syracuse's guards dug down. UNC's guards didn't do them any favors as well as they would often pass the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock was under 15.
