has it? i mean its in tennessee. lots of orange should be there.

we should be the top seed. can we pull this thing off.?

that would give us so much momentum going into the ncaas.

and do yall think we need to lose a regular season game just to get it out of our systems?

I definitely think we CAN win it. A lot will depend on who we draw. I would like to see us get another shot at LSU.

yes i agree with that. we played them right before we hit our stride. but do we have anyone to stop that wooly mammoth they have at center?

i think we can win it no problem. And I will never say we need to lose just to get it out of our system. Any way you slice it, losing is losing, and this late in the year, you dont want to lose...

eh do you think they can stop lofton and watson 2 times in a row this season? I dont think the way lofton is playing, and the way the rest of the team is steppin up, that we would lose to them again. Plus that guy had the game of his life time aginst us, no way that happens again...

I'd take the regular season SEC title over the tourney title anyday. A few months of work is more impressive than getting hot one weekend.

I'd like to see the Vols get another shot at LSU too, maybe in the finals of the SEC tourney?

UAB smoked LSU in the first round of the NCAA's last year. UAB had less to work with than Pearl but played the same style - turned LSU over like crazy, fastbreak and made LSU lose their composure. The mammoth was only semi-effective!

We CAN beat any team in the SEC.

the bracket projection I saw has us in a sweet situation, not facing a quality opponent(guessing) until the sweet 16 most likely against nc state

We are definately a tourney-style team with the way we have been able to come from behind on the road against South Carolina, Kentucky, and Georgia. Coach Pearl knows that these games have given us valuable experiences, and he will make all the right calls come tourney-time.

Dude, even the bracketology-type forecasts done on Selection Sunday are pretty unreliable past 1-16 and 2-15. They are fun to play with, but more meaningless now than even the regular poll services.

I think we most certainly win it.... I do however worry a little about 3 games in 3 days. I would never sell CBP and the Guys short though!!!!!

maybe it's just my obvious vols bias, but i think that at this point we not only can win it, but we should. pearl has these guys believing they will win every game and come tourney time that is huge.

Uh oh. See, once you start thinking "should" that's when you get in trouble.

It only took about 3 weeks for the "expectation creep" to kick in.

as long as i think they should and CBP makes sure they know they can we'll be alright.

out of curiousity though, do you want another crack at south carolina in the tourney, or do they just have florida's number this year

I am agreeing with a gator fan....I'm going to throw up, be right back.....

We haven't one more than two games in the SEC tournament in how many years and all of the sudden we SHOULD win the tourney, Come on people...Tennessee hasn't been in this position in years, savor the victories, cheer like hell when they play but this motley group of players (don't get me wrong, this may be my favorite UT team of all time) has no reason to be where they are. If they lose in the first round of the SEC tournament and the first round of the NCAA tournament, I will still be proud of what this team has done and will never throw out a "What if"

Good question. On the one hand, the game last week seems legitimately to me to have been a major letdown effort sandwhiched between Kentucky and LSU, so I'm tempted to give the Gators a pass for it. On the other hand, they lost to them twice. And if they need motivation to beat that team at home after having lost to them earlier on the road, well, that's not a good sign at all.

Let me put it this way. If Florida faces them in an early round game of SEC tourney and beats them, its no big deal and does not help Florida in the least. But if we lose to them a third time, it would hurt seeding a lot and probably have whoever is in our NCAA bracket scrambling for S.C. game film. So all in all I'd rather not deal with them again. No upside to it for the Gators.

i agree with that line of thinking to a point, but at the same time until someone proves different we are the class of the sec, and the class of the sec should win the tourney. i will be disappointed if we don't win honestly, but maybe that is just a football season hangover

I think we have a good shot at it,But no doubt it will be a tough task.as the gators the lsu tigers even bammer & ky will not lie down and as was stated 3 games in 3 days not easy for anyone, but i have confidence in CBP & the Big Orange!

GO VOLS :clapping:

emain, hate to hear that. Maybe I am a cynical old fart because I went to several SEC tourneys only to be turned away on the first day and watch KY Jelly fans snatch up the losers tickets.
