The question should be what is the overriding objective of the leadership of those groups. The people are just the ends to a means. BLM at one time told you point blank what their goals where...... Until they had to take it down and hide it from public consumption because most people wouldn't back it.I judge them the same. What is the overriding ultimate objective of the people protesting?
And again, the fact that BLM chapters or units or comrade-ships (whatever word it is) officially aligned themselves behind efforts to bail out violent protestors, condemned the arrest of violent protestors, and claimed things like businesses being burned and looted were fair game because those businesses have "insurance".The vast majority of protests weren't peaceful, the majority of protesters were peaceful I'll grant you that but they kept showing up knowing that it was probable that the protest would turn violent. That is supporting the rioters.
Don't agree. The BLM movement is nothing like what they started - the similarities is in name only. The movement pretty much stole the name from them - maybe they should pay them a couple hundred in royalties and be completely done with them. The question should be what is the overriding objective of the leadership of those groups. That is what worries me. He will eventually try to clear the streets with tow trucks and the truckers will respond with a general strike. That will empty grocery store shelves in short order. Someone has to come up with a compromise and no one seems interested in thatThe truckers aren't going to get their way. No damn way Trudeau can back down and save face.
If you believe that you're naive. They have accumulated wealth and power. There are larger agendas at play, always are. You have to pay to play as they say. If they didn't, that money gets hunted down and the IRS is publicly mobilized against them. It's the way it works.Maybe in the beginning - with a couple of them.
The organization has morphed way beyond them - they are irrelevant at this point.
Perhaps the people in the cities that overwhelmingly support the BS (same as in the United States) ought to see what happens when they try to dictate to the "uneducated", "racist", "ignorant" people in the rest of the country, no?That is what worries me. When the supply chain is already stretched to the breaking point, only a small additional strike will have a very disproportionate impact. They don’t all have to work together. 20% will be devistatingWhat your missing is the number of truckers doing this is small in comparison to the total number of truckers in Canada. It's mostly owner operators or very small fleet guys, the big companies aren't letting their company drivers take their rigs to protest. So the goods will still move, maybe some disruption but they will still move. Trucker strikes never work because they can't stick together.
All they did was take the name. The founders in this instance are about as irrelevant as can be.So you believe the ideals of the founders are actually not what they based the organization on? Do people usually create orgs that are in conflict to their lifelong stated beliefs? Maybe if there's money to be made I guess...
I drove for Schneider in the mid to late 90s. There were always talks of a general strike and how all truckers should unite, blah blah blah. Then, out of the other side of their mouths, many of the most vocal advocates for a United strike would call me and my co workers “steering wheel holder”, “scabs”, etc. Why would I, in that context, give a rats ass about their cause when they couldn’t even view me as a peer? What your missing is the number of truckers doing this is small in comparison to the total number of truckers in Canada.
