Canada's Truck Convoy to Protest Mandate

Couple of interesting insights imo. This is written by a Canadian.

And as professor Josh Greenberg incisively argues, the absence of violence does not make this peaceful. The protestors are intimidating and unsettling by their presence alone.
But there are no guns, no nooses, no body armor. No incidents, assaults, or fisticuffs.

So we’ve traversed from “mostly peaceful protests” while cities burn - to “there is no violence, but this is not peaceful”?
What a turn of events.

With this laissez-faire strategy, the protesters might well occupy Ottawa, as they threaten, for months. But they will persuade few. They have little currency in a country where freedom matters less than order.

That is pretty eye opening ^^

Opinion: Canada's trucker protesters aren't who Americans might think - CNN

Many of you may not realize this but you are now seeing the template for the next Jan 6 event. Instead of rioting in the capital, the next million man march can simply shut it down (though harder with the underground there).

LMAO if they’re being honest they already got $1.2M that’s awesome. Suck it GoFundMe

Gee I wonder how GSG will respond when the Canadian authorities make them aware of the groups extremist activities. 😂
The Canadian govt will just freeze their accounts or take some other measure. The same tools we use to sanction and target "terrorists" or enemies of the West is now going to be used against the people on our own soil.

If you can't see where this is going, I don't know what to te you at this point.

I have no idea. You're likely being facetious but I'll give you an answer anyways. An educated guess would be either just regular cybercriminals with really no dog in the fight, or the CIA or some other 5 Eyes country/alphabet organization.
DDOS attacks aren't complicated. They are just flooding the site at a rate the website can't handle. It would definitely be someone that doesn't stand with what the trucker convoys are trying to do.

It really is bizarro world. One set of protests are encouraged despite Covid, another is criticized for not bowing to Covid restrictions. Peaceful is violent and violent is peaceful.

Maybe they can take a page from Jeremy Pruitt. I think each Trucker needs a Happy Meal from McDonalds. 😂
What say you?

Was a bit tongue in cheek, but someone/something inherently must be behind the DDOS attacks.

Could be something as innocuous as petty cyber criminals, could be something more sinister.

When the good guys retake Congress next January, the first Congressional hearing should call Go Fund Me and ask some tough questions under oath
Why?

Have they broken any laws by refusing service to the truckers?

Are they hypocrites? Sure.
Are they criminals? I’m not so sure.

Congressional oversight isn’t limited to potential crimes. It can cover a range of fact finding up to and including a company denying service to lawful customers at the clear behest of a foreign government (if only we had a word for corporations acting in direct concert with the government 😉)

Exactly - it is not a court of law. What they can do, however is drag everyone of the colluding tech companies up to capital hill to discuss how they have colluded. Then they can make a law that makes such collusion illegal - and more importantly, they can force the companies to break up if found to be colluding. This is the real teeth they have and what Facebook, twitter and the rest fear. If congress would start nailing a few to crosses along the Apian way, this would stop fairly quickly.
