I have never understood fans infatuations with uniforms. Do you think certain uniforms have any kind of bearing on the game?
Lol. You realize the entire enterprise is frivolous, right? We’re watching a bunch of 18-22 (or 23, or 24, or 25, or 26) year olds chase an oddly-shaped ball around a patch of grass. If things need to have a concrete impact for you to care about them, maybe fandom isn’t for you.

Uniforms and the iconography associated with them have been a part of sports fandom for generations. It ain’t changing any time soon.

Obviously a lot of “fans” are obsessed with unis. I’m with you; uniform has no influence on the outcome.
The Vol Walk, the checkered board end zones, the band, entering through the T, singing Rocky Top - does any of that actually influence the outcome?
I kind of think it does - because it fires up the players and the fans - same with a little bit of uniform variety.

Agree with that too, love tradition and variety is fine for the most part, but uniform of the day ,imo, doesn’t play into the final score.

Look good, feel good
Feel good, play good
My cousin said this when I mentioned alternate uniforms about 10-12 years ago. He played at Campbell.

Jalen Hurd said the same thing when they debuted the Nike uniforms.

And my uncle told a story of how, when they had a freshman players meeting with parents in attendance, my cousin raised his hand and asked if they would have their names on the back of their jersey.

Placebo effect. If they think they play better in Nike unis vs Adidas unis then let them.

Nobody thinks uniforms play a role in the outcome. No one has claimed that they do. That has nothing to do with folks’ interest in which uniforms we wear. Continuing to tell us they play no role in the outcome is to argue with a straw man.

For those interested, the Vol football account has been announcing the uniforms on Thursdays on Instagram/X.

I will be wearing orange regardless, but has the uniform announcement been made?

Stormtroopers or white w/orange pants?
I'm guessing its strormtroopers because Kent st we wore orange pants and I don't think they'll do that 2 games in a row because those are kinda the alternate pants. I think we will wear orange pants or helmets at Arkansas. Or both. They always announce game unis on Thursday morning so we'll figure out tomorrow either way.
