I'm definitely going to see this. My only problem is that Hollywood keeps pumping out these pg-13 movies that clearly should be rated R.

I don't know if I've ever considered what a movie is rated to influence my decision to watch it.

I rate movies myself, they are either great or they suck.

Outside of the take down scene I see no reason that this film should be rated (R).

Its simple as why studios do it money!

Out of the top 25 grossing films this year only 5 were rated (R) the highest was number #10 The Heat followed by #11 We're The Millers and #13 The Conjuring.

I read that article after I saw the movie. I wonder how much is truth and how much is butthurt/jealousy. Although I can easily see how Richard Phillips was perceived to be a bit of a penis.

The Aceman was talking about how Captain Phillips is a huge ***hole in real life. How did they depict him in the movie?

All I know is they couldn't pick a better actor for the role. Hanks is the best actor of this generation. The last scene in the movie is one of his best ever.

Just saw it. Tom's best performance in at least a decade. Main pirate is outstanding, too. Unfortunately, everyone else is mostly forgettable.

What's amazing is that the actor for Muse, the main pirate, has never acted in his life. Not bad for a first timer. Would be cool if he got nominated for a supporting role

I agree, but the field is absolutely loaded this year (same with best actor). If I had to guess he's probably right on the bubble

Finally saw this tonight. Excellent movie. The "execute" scene was one of the baddest military scenes I have ever seen, and (as said in this thread several times already) the final scene with Tom Hanks was some of the best acting I have ever seen.

It was pretty good. Not sure I was as giddy as you.
