Carlus Groves should be on...

Griffs List. Bout as much of a shot as Jay Wright. Whatever happened to Shaq's nemesis?

He's from my hometown of Clarksville and went to the high school where my dad taught. He was a tough player. I loved it when he mixed it up with Shaq.

Since when is Clarksville his home town? Must be another Carlus Groves.

He was on Sports 560 during the Sports Bar, had a lot of interesting things to say. But, one in particular is he alluded to a couple of names that would be very familiar coming out in the next couple of days. Ofcourse that was all he gave, but it almost seemed like he was alluding to Josh Pastner. I was waiting to see if they posted the interview but have not yet.

Greatest moment of my young life was the Carlus, Shaq, and Dale Brown imbroglio. It would have helped had we won the game, though.

When I think back to my teenage years that was probably the moment that cemented my love for UT hoops.

So yes, I would support the Carlus Groves candidacy.

Carlus Groves was the first of many people that dunked on me in my basketball career. East Robertson v. Friendship Christian in 1986. It was an alley oop from a guy named Fritz that was Class A Mr. Basketball and went to play at Cumberland. I still have nightmares.

The Pride of East Robertson is lost somewhere just off of I-24.

I may have him confused with someone else as I was just a kid then. I will do some research and report back. I'll own it if wrong.

Cross plains/ east Robertson is just off I-65 in Robertson county. I know I got family that played there. I also volunteer for their football program. Carlos groves is from cross plains not Clarksville.

They were a juggernaut back in the 80's dude!! But IMO David Woodard Sr was the best player at east Robertson

Definately wouldn't say East Robertson and Clarksville are close. Driving from East Robertson High School to Clarksville is roughly a 45 min drive.

any video of that scuffle out there. I was only like eight but I remember Shaq trying to dunk and Carlos grabbing him by the shorts to hold him down. Not a very smart move if you ask me. Still wish somebody would've knocked Dale out though.

I'm not sure whether you are correcting or agreeing, but OK.

I live in Hopkinsville, KY. Robertson Co is off of I-24 for me.

My highschool handed East Robertson its first home loss in something like 183 years when I was playing JV ball. Groves played in that game. Of all of the crackerbox gyms I have ever seen, E Robertson was probably the crackerboxiest.

Carlos Groves played his entire HS career at Cross Plains in a small school called East Robertson. His many trophies and pictures, along with team championship banners, adorn our school at present. Our school is off exit 112 on I -65 North, we are no where in the vicinity of Crossville. Our closest "big city" is the county seat of Springfield. He was an outstanding player that made our small community proud. Our games were packed to capacity in the seasons he played.
