Carson Beck in portal?

Beck had teammate perception issues in the lockerroom. He's a me only type guy. And an emotional roller coaster guy. There were always early season rumors of disconnects in the GA lockerroom, and I'd wager it was due to Beck and the way he separated himself with his Lambo outside the lockerrom. Having someone drive the Lambo to Austin so he could have it to drive from the airport to campus was pretty telling. Didn't ride the bus in with the team.

Stockton will have the nod going into Spring and be the guy to beat. He is also all GA and only wanted to play there. And has paid his dues. And is good enough to start. Soooo....if he does get passed over it'd be interesting to see if he moves on or Will Brooks it on out.

They really won't miss Beck in general, and I think he knows he's not really wanted back.
I’ve heard some of the same things, but I don’t want to knock the guy just because he’s leaving. (Not saying you are, to be clear). Playing QB at a high level takes a ton of physical ability and a huge amount of leadership skill or charisma. Beck has the ability to succeed, but seems to lack something in connecting with the team or getting guys behind him.

If we find out that NIL went to his head, it won’t be the first time. But I like Carson Beck, am thankful for his time in Athens, and wish him well.

I was talking this about him before he chose to leave. Those rumors were out there for a reason. You could see it on hte field on offense that things were not cohesive. When they were it was other wordly. Maybe it wasn't much, but it was enough. Seems he had wild confidence swings, and I think he set himself apart in his own mind with the NIL he was getting. And maybe that didn't bode wll accross the lockerroom. And Kirby appeared to let him do his thing and not control it. If I'd had got off that plane in Austin and saw one of my players car waiting on him to drive to the opponents home on his own I'd have told him if he gets in it point it toward Athens and that the team is on the bus if he cares to join up.

Most of the time you can tell Kirby still prescribes to alot of what Saban taught him. Then sometimes he just Kirbies.

TBO though, in post games, I've never got the vibe Beck was genuine, especially in dealing out credits. Something always seemed missing with him. He does need the sports psychiatrist though. I think he paid alot of attention to what would be said about him. His performances were erratic and probably followed his confidence roller coaster.

Mistake for him, I would think. This is a weak QB draft.

But he'd also be going in with his stock at an all-time low, not to mention he may be able to make more $ at Miami.

This is what I would do if I were Carson Beck and I believed in myself. He looked like a 1st rd pick when he had McConkey and Bowers. I figure Miami doesn't have guys like that, I don't really know what they got, but it's at least a system change and it's ACC defense.

They’ve ruined college football.

We finally have parity this season and despite that, we still have all this talk of ruining football. Player pay and movement is the price of parity.

I don't love all the chaos, and I'd prefer we slow down the movement a bit, but nothing is ruined. CFB is doing fkn great.

Underwhelming season plus injury and can’t throw til March. Would not be sharp for combine. Need to prove last year was not a fluke but doubt he gets into a program with as much talent around him which definitely helps his stats.

True, and he probably will be able to put up better numbers at Miami playing lesser competition.

He had Tommy John’s surgery on this throwing elbow. He won’t be able to do any predraft workouts other than interviews which would drop him out of the first few rounds. At that point, NIL would be a lot higher. He would likely get 3million in NIL
