Placing it in the Sports Forum wouldn't have been the correct place. I said forum police because you didn't look at the whole picture about this thread.

I posted this asking about the program around the same time that it's announced Ken Sparks had cancer in which I didn't know. So, don't try to make me out the person that I ain't. Thanks!

Ignorance confirmed..Don't post when you haven't a clue...NAIA is NAIA..Period..Educate yourself before starting a thread..NAIA has NOTHING to do with NCAA...

I think it might be a good idea to turn this thread around. It has potential to be a great send off for an A+ guy. I remember Kenny from the olden days when we hung out and played ball together. A nicer and kinder fellow you will not meet often. He was always 100% in all he did. I've followed his career and have really been happy for him. One of the good guys in all he does. He stayed as long as he could but his health finally made his decision for him. I know that he wishes with all his might that this had not happened and he could continue with the legacy he has instilled in CN.

Man I hate to see him with cancer. I honestly never liked the man personally. Knew some of his players and he wasn't a good dude to them. I hope he recovers and is alright

Unfortunately, a legend has passed away. Coach Ken Sparks has passed away due to complications from cancer. Message below from Coach Butch Jones:

Not sure who told you this, I knew 20 to 30 players back in the 90's and they all talked highly of Coach Sparks.

Definitely a legend on and especially off the field that has passed today. Prayers for all his family and friends.

Went to CNC for four years and never heard a player say a bad word about Coach unless he had an ax to grind.

I'm sad he has passed and will not share the story as that is a low thing to do. I'm sure he had he's reasons and he thought he was justified. Can't treat everyone right even when you want to

For years Carson Newman benefited from a couple of close by FCS teams that would not recruit east Tennessee. UTC being one of them.
