I'm just as excited as any VOL fan on this great run but to talk NCAA tourney before we win a games in SEC tourney is the classic cart before the horse. I'm not supersticious just cautious because All of you know our history in the SEC tourney and its not good. It is one game at time from here on out, enjoy the this great run and hope we can win the most important game, the next one. Hope to see a lot Vols in NO on Friday. GO VOLS!!!

Our history in the SEC tournament is entirely caused by some architectural incongruity between Thompson Boling and the Georgia Dome that makes people who learn to shoot in the one incapable of shooting in the other. This has been proven by science.

We're gonna do great in New Orleans!

What does history have to do with it, and I LOVE our chances against either of the two teams we could be matched with in our first game.

Here's an idea: since we are now being talked about all over the country in seemingly every broadcast... Enjoy it. Stop finding something to bring yourself and everyone down.

Which team causes you concern, Ole Miss.....playing Vandy again? I like our chances against most anyone except Kentucky at this point. This is a neutral site for everyone but LSU. I'm confident. We're rolling and the only thing stopping us is a lack of confidence. This isn't the team that began 1-4 in the sec. This is the team that finished 10-6. We are cresting. Ride the waves and relax. We're going to sweep the sec tourney and then take the ncaa championship. All we need is a mere 8 or 9 more wins in the closing tourney games. :rock:

we as fans are allowed to look ahead and make projections and such.

that part of the joy of being a fan.

just as long as you're not expecting things, and just looking ahead who cares.

I must have missed where we had a history in the SEC tournament with Martin as our head coach.

Think I posted this earlier in here but it got deleted. Ole miss, MSU, and Vandy concern me. That being said, I think we win it all.

That's what I'm talking about. I think some of us have forgotten how to jubilate. We might lose the next game, but right now.....hey, I think we're going to win out and take both the sec and ncaa championship.:clapping:

New to the board.There is a new era in Tennessee basketball that includes the SEC and dare I say NCAA tourneys. Counzo is behind the wheel now watching this team peak at the right time is something we havent seen besides the elite eight run in a long time and it is all due to CCM's coaching philosophies.

Thank you have read VN for a while and decided to join. Love to talk sports would hate to deal with the drama ive seen some of the members create lol

Glad you took that approach. I did the same and would advise all potential newcomers to do the same. It's a GREAT board even if a select few make it less enjoyable sometimes.

I would also advise waiting awhile before you make your first thread unless you've got great info/news to bring or have checked the forums to see if you're inquiry has already been answered. I've seen some newcomers get very aggressive with threads or opinions and really get flamed, but I've got a feeling that if you've visited for a little while, you know this already. Just my 2 cents.

Best case scenario we do get Ole Miss since they have a good RPI and that would boost ours if we win. Ole Miss will not be a cake walk. For that reason they are a bubble team trying to fight their way in just as we are. Do they scare me yes for the same reason as mentioned and to add they had us down 15 - 5 in TBA, yes we came back and won but thats what home court advantage is about. As someone mentioned before this is a neautral site game and that too ads to the difficulty. I absolutly think we can play with Ky if we get to the point. Thats a big if, been to the games home & away and traveled all over so Dont doubt my fandom and excitment, just saying i been to almost all of these tournys and they are always tough. See you in N.O. GO VOLS!!!

When/if we play Vandy again, they will not perform the way they did on Saturday. They missed ALOT of free throws and missed alot of 3 pointers.
They missed the free throws on their own accord but McBee caused them to miss some of their 3 pointers.
I would suspect that they miss fewer free throws this time around and that Festus will play better in the next match up. Festus looks different than he did when he was in Gun Smoke!!!
We will need to play our serious "A" game against them in the next match up.... They will be motivated this time around.

One game at a time. Proud of the team regardless of how it turns out, NCAA or NIT. They became relevant to the conversation by bringing the lunch pail mentality of coming to work and getting better each day. They overcame adversity created by their lousy early play and selfishness of Kenny Hall. Never give up, good things can happen.
