Carter: Bush's Impact 'Worst in History'

Well you are the one that kept complaining about how much we are paying. One of your reasons for disapproval of the war.

OE, we'll never know. Who knows how different Bush would've governed?

Nor will we know what kind of president Gore would've been and what the country would look like right now. But I have to live with voting for and supporting Bush in 2000. And it pains me that I made that decision for really silly reasons, like personality and "character" instead of policy.

Albert as President................

He would have done the same thing with Iraq, he would have been re-elected and the spin would be how wonderful the U.S. presence in Iraq is currently going.

OK, maybe you've had some grief. I'll have someone in the administration send you a spray of roses and condolence card.

Thanks man. Instead of roses, though (not much of a flower guy), can you ask them to send a signed picture of the President in front of the "Mission Accomplished" sign?

Thanks for discounting my answer.

What about my neighbor, who lost a son and daughter-in-law in Iraq? Would you tell them the same thing? Are you saying nobody is paying anything for this? Good to know this one's a freebie. On the house.
People are paying a very high price. You're not. You're simply taking the high minded liberal agenda and gracing us with more than we're already bombarded.

Unfortunately, those in Iraq chose a profession that puts them in harm's way. Doesn't make it better when we lose them nor am I making light of the losses because they are all devastating, but it is part and parcel to military service. If we looked at combat situations from the vantage point of families making the ultimate sacrifice, no outcome would ever be worth the price. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of viewing the world in such light - that would be the role of the foreigners who you care so much about.

Correct. "We." Meaning this country that I was born in and live in and pay taxes in. "We" all are paying for it. Don't want to believe it? That's your choice.

No prob. How big is your poster of Carter receiving his Nobel Pacifist prize? I'll have this one done to match and you will have your set of the two worst presidents of my lifetime. One you love, the other is "costing you dearly"

"High minded liberal agenda." Well, the first 3 words I take as a compliment. And if "agenda" means a peaceful world, then I guess the entire thing's a compliment. So thanks.

As for the foreigners I care about, among them would you include the approximately 64,000 Iraqi civilians who have died since March 2003?

How little you know about me.

But what I do know about you is that you cheer for the Orange. And that's good enough to keep me coming back here to discuss topics with you.

So Go Vols, I'm out of here.

High minded is about the ludicrous egotism that drives that agenda, nothing about the mental midgets developing the talking points. Peaceful world is a pipe dream. Keep believing and maybe someday we can invent a pill for moms so every baby will be "good." I fully expect that we'll eradicate selfishness, greed and the quest for power within a couple of generations and war will be a thing of the past. Glory day.

Well more than 64K Americans have died since March '03.

Love the research, but what's your point? I supported the war too. I argued my head off in favor of it many, many times. I believed them. I thought we were taking down the next Hitler. A guy who could threaten us at any minute. That wasn't true, and now we know it. A lot of Dems and GOP got duped too. So what does that change?

My point is that the word "duped" seems an odd choice. It implies that someone intentionally convinced others of something the duper knew not to be true.

The intelligence about Iraq was wrong dating back to the 90's. Virtually no one knew that including the admin. You stated that if WMD existed you would have considered Iraq a real threat. Just about everyone believed WMD did exist - therefore they believed it was a real threat.

Who did the duping? From my perspective, even the admin believed WMD thus by definition not capable of duping anyone.

In short, WMD was taken as fact by virtually all. This was not a result of the admin but rather and accumulation of intelligence dating back since the early 90's.

You refuse to answer how the kurds wound up with mass graves? What was used? No WMD's? People really get hung up on this "no WMD" thing. Guess what, the hi-jakcers on 09/11 didn't have their own WMD's either.
So I'm to assume you were all for the troops in Bosnia in the early 90's and I would have to assume you are for sending troops to the Sudan since it appears you are such a humanitarian lmao :eek:k:

Why shouldn't we have troops in the Sudan?

I would like to know what the general meant by broken.

In terms of the military, I only know a small portion and none hold the view of the men being broken.

*Of course there will be cases and instances but as a whole, no.
