Cases of West and Jurick, my take

When Gillispie was ousted, I hoped we'd no longer have to put up with VN's basketball columnist supporting/defending the KY coach at every turn while bashing ours. Then, KY has to go and hire one of his favorites.

+1

However, if Tenn hired Cal, I am sure his mentality would change. It would take a 180 degree turn. I've never seen a "fan" so hell-bent on negativity towards they program they are allegedly a "fan" of.

Funny how that works.

There's an easy way for Pearl to avoid "bashing": Don't act like a clown or a snake.

Well, I know they didn't consult you, from your comments about Cal's interest level on here.
I didn't say they did. Just pointing out that schools that understand basketball tend to end up with guys who know what they are doing.

so you're lumping me into the group that would prefer a guy who coaches defense over a coach who can rap? I think I'm ok with that
Come on, that crazy. Lots of guys teach defense. How many 50 year old wannabe rappers are there out there? We're unique.

No - I am lumping you into the group who put a single man on a pedestal when that one person has nothing but criticism for the program we all follow.

I'd rather have the rapper than the cheater.....UK will be Cal's demise. Not from the win-loss category, but from his unethical practices.

I mean, what would you rather have? A strategist/recruiter/CEO like a Bill Self or a guy who can help Bobby Maze "get it on for his city?" I think the answer is clear.

I can think for myself thanks. Until last season I was on the Pearl bandwagon but his inability to fill the pg position and the way we played caused me to question some of his ability. Everyone seems so scared to criticize the man, why? Didn't we learn anything from the last untouchable coach we had?

This + the "beeeeatch!" + the NWA reference have given me an entirely new opinion of you.

does it have nuclear engineering?

I was looking through the US News and World Report rankings yesterday while waiting on my wife in the bookstore and noted that Michigan actually has the #1 ranked nuclear engineering program in the country (for graduate education, but the acorn doesn't usually fall too far from the tree, if you will). It made me think of this thread so I thought I would post. The worth of the USNWR rankings is debatable...but it does generally correlate very well with the respect people have for a program.
