Yeah, I remember that year Spurrier stuck his foot in his mouth with the Citrus Bowl comment.

Anyone care to guess what bowl the Gators played in that season????

And this is pretty low for you Neyland---"2) Unlike Florida, we don't worry about losing to MS State"

I wouldnt exactly say were worried.  That was the first game they won in how many years?  I dont think any UF fan is worried about MS, but you can live in the shadows and think we tremble at the sight of sly croom, because believe me, we dont.

Maybe you should be worried. The lowly Bulldogs (who lost to Maine last year; let me emphasize this--MAINE) have beaten you twice in a row in Starkville, and their in-state rival Ole Miss has also beaten you twice in a row (once in the fabled Swamp).

I still like Ainge's potential to be a better QB than Chris Leak, both in college and in the pros. Chris Leak may be the leading passer in the SEC, but he was outdueled by Ainge with respect to their freshman years, which is the only possible present point of comparison (how's that for aliteration . . . oh wait, I don't think they teach that until 9th grade grammar/literature classes, so you probably haven't learned it yet . . .)

Ainge has better numbers thus far in their two respective careers, (i.e., as far as Freshman year) and has done so in less games, and with an offensive philosophy that is far more focused on the running game than UF's. He beat Georgia on the road, and of course threw three TD passes to beat UF in Knoxville. His comeback win over Florida as a freshman overshadows Leak's comeback over a terrible Kentucky team in his freshman year.

As for UT's history and tradition, well, we've got a lot more of it than Florida does. What does Florida do, pitch to recruits that Florida football invented Gatorade? You guys had a tremendous decade in the 90's and until 2001, but you don't have much history to brag about prior to that.

If you don't want to go back to 1926, then fine . . . shall we look at recent history?

As I said in a previous post: 8-5, 8-5, 7-5, lost all three bowl games.

Hmm...good luck selling national championships from the 3's to recruits.

as for Neyland--yes, my bad, ya got me on that one :p  :banghead:
I still cant see how youre glad you didnt get the leading passer in the SEC, but whatever floats your boat.

And this is pretty low for you Neyland---"2) Unlike Florida, we don't worry about losing to MS State"
