I want to start this because it is important. then I will go back to honoring my ban bet. there is only one reason a company shuts down its credit card billing side...they are in a huge revenue crunch. Amex, visa, etc take roughly three percent off the top and bill grossly per month. This is not a very good sign for any business when you cut this out and a sign UT is in financial problems.

That is why these numbers floating around of 5 million a year plus Dooley's buyout are fantasies, not to mention the assistant coaches and a new staff.

In today's economy....cash over credit is just smart business. When you look at the stands today, you quickly realize every dollar counts. Hell I'd do the same thing if I ran the UT corp. When the stadium is filled like it was today, you face a $1 million loss per game in attendance, you take drastic measures. Just biz.

How do you arrive at a million dollar loss today?

Yeah, I guess all those millions of other places that take cards are just practicing bad business. Good thing Hart has figured it out.

How many places took CC in Neyland other than the gift store? None of the concession stands to my memory ever did.

If it wasn't for bad luck,
we would have no luck at all!
Doom dispair,
And agony on me!
Deep, dark depression,
And something something something

I don't either.

They are losing a lot more money in unsold tickets which also leads to less in concessions, merchandise, and parking.

Are you speaking about the fan store? I don't ever remember concessions taking credit / debit.

Multiply ticket price times 17,000 plus loss in parking, concessions, merchandise.

Hmmm? 70,000 x 40 = 2.8 mill. Do you think it cost's more than 2.8 mill. to host a home game? I understand they didn't make as much as UT should, but they certainly didn't lose money.
