I've had my share of cool cats. Our next to last cat was an orange tabby attack cat. Lol

I would tug the hair at the base of his tail for a few seconds while talking to him. I could tell when he was at his peak of pissedoffedness and tell him "get that dog!" Off he'd go like a stinger missile to attack the dog.

This is the Head Cat (our cat), who we think is around 16 years old, at a vet visit:

The Grandcat (DD#2’s cat, on an extended visit), a grossly obese and slightly grumpy orange and white tabby, and le Chat Lunatique, my mother’s high-spirited cat, who is now blessedly reunited with my mom in her assisted living apartment. Each is pretending that the other is not there, as they were not on particularly cordial terms. The odds are likely that Luna was on the verge of waking up and chomping me for no particular reason.

The patch of fur is our cat passed out in a clump of catnip, this being Asheville after all.
