Siap. CBJ was on the Zone a little while ago. He said the entire staff was in Middle TN last night for a high school coaching clinic. Spent the night there, back to Ktown today, then back to Nashville tomorrow for Sportsfest. He will appear at 4. Al Wilson to appear at noon. He talked about how well the conditioning was going, especially for the EEs. They asked him about the "Saban rule", as Spurrier is calling it. CBJ said he wants to see stats on injuries due to the hurry-up. He thinks they ought to look at blitzes and returns before quick snaps. Very well spoken, as usual, and the Zone staff really likes him.

Butch says that there are 3 kinds of football players. There are those that like football, those that love football and those that live football. He wants those that live football as it is the air that they breathe. Well he is that kind of coach. This man never stops.

Friend of mine is a coach at Riverdale. He texted me last night and said he was VERY impressed with CBJ. He hates UT so I'm sure it killed his soul to say that.

Something else. He said they have a body pod they use to monitor BFI. They are using it to increase muscle. He gave figures on how much fat they have lost and how much muscle they have gained. Something I thought was interesting though was, he said they are stronger now than they were this time last year, despite having all of those veteran linemen. We heard that from some of the OL, but it was interesting to hear him talk about it.

The Bod Pod is a great tool for accurately measuring body composition, but it does not increase muscle. No, that is not an endorsement. :good!:

True. He did say this time last year they had 0 players who could squat over 600 lbs. They now have 9 who can.

I hope those are all OL's and DL's!

Also I like how CBJ is using real numbers to show this team's progress. At a time when wins cannot be used as measurement, I like that he's a "numbers" guy and can give real metrics to show people progress/improvement.

Very impressive! Having spent my time on a squat rack back in the day of free weights and 2 spotters, I can tell you that takes dedication and very hard work. I think the entire team is "getting the job done."

If being a HC is like being a CEO, he better know his numbers.

Amazes me that we had 0 players who could squat 600lb's, yet at one time we had a guy who could BENCH that! Shows how far we've fallen.

you are correct sir....it uses air-displacement if I remember correctly. It use to be in the HPER building...I wonder if they have their own though.

Sounds like after a brief flirtation with candy, middle Tennessee is back to knowing the Big Orange rules & there is only one real school in the Volunteer State !

I've lived here all my life (minus 4 in the Navy). Middle Tennesseans are know for being bandwagoners. SOO many Bama fans here now. Even seeing more and more Auburn fans.

As soon as CBJ turns this around, there will UT fans everywhere.

SICKENING. I'm moving to East Tenn. as soon as volatil jr graduates HS.

McClendon was a super impressive guy, and an anomaly in bench pressing. Saying we have fallen, just because we don't have a guy who can bench 600+ is not exactly accurate.

I live in Chattanooga, more specifically the Tiftonia area. The amount of crimson in my area is sickening! They are dug in here like ticks! Our Wal Mart has as much, if not more Alabama merch than it it does UT merch! The Cracker Barrel here is the same way! Absolutely sickens me!

Of course I don't expect to have a team of guys benching 600. But we absolutely should have had guys that could squat it! Hard to believe considering all the upper classmen we had on the OL and DL.
