CBJ vs. Trooper Confrontation

Oh, you are so correct. My bad and thanks for the correction. Garner used to go to the church of recruits to try and impress their mothers. Scumbag. Trooper was a heck of a position coach.

Trooper caused more division and strife while he was here than any other coach in memory. When his wife wanted to buy a million $ house, and the loan was rejected all hell broke loose. And it just got worse when Fulmer passed him over for OC. Good riddance. I'm surprised anybody hired him after he left Auburn.

Yes because all the players have nothing but bad things to say about him during his stint at UT....... Oh wait.

Seriously people, this is obviously a Photoshopped image. If you look closely neither Butch nor Trooper are in the original photo. It's pretty easy to spot, but I do have to say someone did a good job with this one.

We would have obviously heard something about this if it actually happened.

This was on SECRANT. Don't know if true or not:

Trooper was acting like the idiot he is. He got in the face of multiple UT players when they came near the ASU sidelines after plays and was blatantly talking ****e to them. He is a towel waving bafoon that was too dirty for Auburn. Glad to see his career path take the hit it has.

There were several Tennessee fans who wanted Trooper to be hired as our head football coach!

It did happen. Jones addressed it in his press conference but wouldn't say what was about. Don't blame him. Not anyone's business but it has been confirmed by a reporter with Rocky Top Insider that several people heard it and there were words exchanged.

Would be helpful to include a link to the original photo...

At any rate, this exchange did take place based on comments made by Reed Carringer with Rocky Top Insider on the radio today. He was on the field and heard from others who witnessed it.

Ok who is trooper taylor? And why is CBJ all up in him? Lol this is an honest question I have no idea who he is

Like 88 says, Trooper Taylor is an assistant coach who worked for Fulmer a couple of years. He actually improved our RBs. So Phil put him on the WRs, which were playing badly, and they improved. He's a good position coach, imo, but a towel waver and chest bumper. He came by way of Tulane with a warning about shady recruiting. Troop wanted to get promoted to OC, and he might have done well. Phil didn't promote him, so he left for Okie State and a co-OC title, which did not last long. Then went to Auburn, which had some of the crookedest alumni in the country running recruiting. Trooper called one of our players, Gerald Jones, I think he was a senior and it was after the season, and put a recruit on the line. It was a player Tennessee and Auburn were both recruiting, and our guy Jones told the recruit what a great coach Trooper was, which p.o.ed a lot of Tennessee fans. So Trooper Taylor has a history with UT, both good and bad. He is at Arky State now. Word was that he was getting hot at Auburn with too much attention on their bad business. I think Malzahn cut him loose, after Malzahn came back to Auburn as HC.(Malzahn was OC at Auburn and then HC at Arkie State, and is now HC at Auburn). For whatever reasons, Troop landed at Arkie State after he left Auburn. We just played Arkie State, hence the pic with Troop and Butch.

I really would love to have been in Todd Kelly Jr.'s shoes and have heard the whole dialogue. However, I wasn't standing there so let's have a little fun and caption the picture.

Trooper: MY Daddy is tougher than your daddy! After all, he named me Trooper and he has a grandson named Blaise!!! He also taught me how to twist a towel around my head like a helicopter!

CBJ: My Daddy was a cop!! He would destroy your Daddy!! Cheater!!

Go Vols!!

That was not "nothing". Butch was pisses about something

I think you see the orange stripe and that looks like something is off in the photo. Look at his other arm, as it has it too. This doesn't look shopped.

Not saying that it didn't happen, but it seems kinda odd that nobody in the pic is paying any attention to them. Seems that if they were having words, it would get the attention of at least one or two of the people standing right next to them.

That's a very good summary, actually.

From - Butch Jones was making a point to Trooper Taylor - GoVolsXtra Story

"It's amazing, I look at him and say, ‘you guys got a really good football team' and everybody blows it out of proportion," said Jones, who said the hand gesture was simply used to make the point. "He was very complimentary of what's going on here with everything, so it was good to hear from somebody who has coached here before that we're getting it back."
