One of my good friends played at UT under KO and hated him. Was recruited by Houston and then played his freshman year under KO. He doesnt have many good things to say about him.

If your friend was brilliant enough to sign with Wade Houston, I have to disregard his opinion.

Rick Carlisle, Jeff Van Gundy, Pat Riley, Charlie Spoonhour, Bob Huggins, Denny Crum, Steve Kerr, Bob Knight. Do you want me to continue?

Why is he on the end of the Grizzlies bench now? The obvious Phoenix connection, but with his contacts surely he could do better.

I love when I see these references. Did Ohio State "choke" in getting down 20 in the first half? Bottom line is the better team won that game. Period.

No. We actually played up to our potential. It's the same way we destroyed Memphis that year. We had a TON of potential in 07. We were able to neutralize Oden and stop their outside shooting. The problem is that we let up, and allowed them back in the game. When the door should have been shut, we ended up just shutting the screen door, and Ohio State quickly blew that right open.

Yeah, it was the lack of effort that allowed a team loaded with NBA first rounders to catch up to a team of castoffs, rejects, and retreads. Thanks for the laugh.

That was the best opening available in the offseason. Most of the places he would have had an in had already filled their staffs by the time KO became available. Also, he's now the special assistant to the GM, not an assistant coach. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he's running the personnel side in Memphis this time next year.

Putting Van Gundy on the list causes the whole list to be a joke.

How???? Van Gundy never won a big game in his life and he always had a ton of talent on his teams. Wander why he is not coaching any more???

Exactly how many big games have the rockets won with him gone?

...and likely will be again, although I do enjoy the banter between he, Mark Jackson, and Mike Breen.
He and Jackson make a very good team calling ballgames. I now go out of my way to find their games because they're entertaining and know what in the hell they're talking about.
