Perhaps hustle, desire, attitude, work ethic, and practice prep play some role here other than just the last name. Maybe CBP is trying to be what we all say we want: which is a Coach who puts the hardest working players (bleed orange?) on the court as much as possible. I dunno just a thought ?

I like Bruce Pearl and dont want any other coach. The only intelligent question is why Pearl recruits losers off the court. Who cares if hes down to playing his kid. Recruit great players who can stay out of trouble and not screw up and disrupt the season.

Cant believe the amount of criticism towards coach Pearl this year. All the man has done is win 20 games a season since he has been in charge and made our mens bball program relevant. We couldnt sniff 20 wins a year before Bruce Almighty arrived in Knoxville.

There was no trashing of S.Pearl... Everything that I said was completely true, unfortunately. Name one person on Kentucky's roster that S.Pearl is better than... Got anything? And please show me where his presence on the court has HELPED our team. He can't score, he isn't big enough to be a post and not athletic enough to play guard, he's constantly out of position on defense and gave up at least 5 easy dunks bc of it against Florida. Listen, I don't blame S.Pearl for his inability to play at this level, a lot of people can't. But I do blame Bruce for continuing to play him more and more each game. Maybe I will never understand.

VERY VERY Well said!!! He can't play at this level; anyone who thinks he deserves more minutes than Hall, Woolridge & Williams has NO clue what sports is about. Don't get me wrong those three guys should be BETTER too but on their worst days they give us a better shot of winnning than SP. CBP has done great I jst wish he wouldn't have turned into a youth league coach and plays his son when he is NOT worthy. Only youth league coaches do that...

Hell J Bone deserves more min than SP; he could outplay SP at the 4-spot anyday of the week bet it!!!!

This post is a joke. No doubt Bone would be great at the 4-spot. Most all teams try to find a tought 6 footer to put in a the 4 position. Pearl is better defensively than Hall or Williams at this point. Give him a break and try trashing someone else.

Other than Chism hitting the floor due to pump fakes, Steven Pearl is the ONLY Vol who's backside has voluntarily hit the hardwood for loose balls and hustle plays. He seems to be the only one who gives a damn about playing hard when he's in there.

The others you speak of aren't oozing with talent, yet you seem to think half of what they have is better than 100% of Steven Pearl.

Is the kid good enough to play at this level? No. But if you think for one minute that your woes are solely based upon his playing time, your ignorance knows no bounds.

(it should be noted that I'm not the first to say this. Hat has a thread dedicated to this very subject.)

I DO NOT think JBone is a good 4 player I was saying I bet JBone could outplay SP at any of the 5 positions on the floor... Yes Pearl hustles, but this is SEC it takes more than just hustle. The other players (Hall, Woolridge, Williams) aren't playing that good either but there way better than SP! Whoever thinks this guy deserves meaningful minutes is a guy that don't mind losing or playing w/ huge disadvantages. What does SP offer this SEC top 25 team???? He's 6-5 not athletic, he can't throw a beach ball in the ocean maybe the worst offensive player of the decade.. But he sure does hustle.. He's pitiful quit playing daddy ball and play the players that give u the best shot of winning SP isn't it.

I know this he wouldn't see minutes on any of the other SEC teams so why should he see min on our team.

This is the dumbest post I have ever seen. You obviously haven't been watching the same team or you would realize there is really no other option. Also, by stating that Bone could play any position on the floor better than Pearl you are inferring that Bone would be a better 4 than Pearl.
