they are going to do their best to keep the Big 10 teams in the play offs. They are not going to want the Southern teams to dominate the NCAA football landscape.

I, personally see the teams like MIchigan, T.O.S.U., etc. getting less and less relevant in college football as each year passes.

The demographics of this country are changing quickly. The population of Michigan "Detroit", Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania are moving south. The un-employment, high state tax rates, high crime rates, less freedom "gun control' etc. are causing many people to move south.

After high school, those kids who moved from the north will not elect to go to school in the north, but will go to school in the south, where it is warmer and where their family moved to. Sol they will be closer to family while playing sports on the college level.

this means a smaller pool of recruits who will go to T.O.S.U. Penn State, Michigan, etc. etc.

Decades ago, Florida's population was much smaller. Now, suddenly, it is a hot bed for college recruits in football. The population of Florida changed and the families who moved to Florida from the north stayed in the south and didn't play sports for the northern universities.

Your logic on why so many good recruits come from Florida does not make sense at all. It is not due to a population shift. Going North to go to school is still desirable. And Florida is not all it is cracked up to be. I live here.

Florida excels in recruiting partly because for years they had way better systems and football programs at the high school level than anywhere else. My former neighbor coached DBs at Plant High School in Tampa (HS OF Aaron Murray). He played college at Michigan. He shared with me that the coaching in these high schools was on a college level. Game film, conditioning, etc... Etc... Plus football due to weather is year around (7 on 7 during summer). Also kids here specialize early. Where I went to HS in Tennessee lot of guys played 2-3 sports. Lot of guys here are football 365.

Don't think it is due to a mass exedus from the North.

Remind me again why Knoxville doesn't host a bowl game?

I've always heard we don't enough hotels to host a Neyland Stadium full of out of towners. Something along the lines of "in order to host a bowl game there needs to be enough hotel space available within a certain distance of the stadium to accommodate the amount of people the stadium can hold."

Could be absolute BS but it sounds somewhat legit.

Auburn didn't have a QB, they had a fast-as-hell running back who would throw and RB pass every now and then.

Seriously, he's down right awful throwing the ball. Their success last year was having fast talented players that fit the spread and Malzahn being one of the best offensive minds in the game.

Your correct, he's a runner first, but he throws a decent ball, as long as he has good receivers he's fine. As far as last season, he had better number throwing the football than any UT QB. But, getting back to my original point, he was a vast improvement over what they had the year before.

Last year we didn't know 3-9 Auburn was going to the National Championship and 5-7 Mizzou was going to all of a sudden become world-beaters with the exact same personnel as the previous year.

Mizzou was a surprise, a lot of us on here thought Auburn could be elite though.

Read on the stall wall at a Wal-Mart bathroom in Tampa that all Gators in attendance get a Belk lifetime discounts of 75% off Fubu jorts and Sean John shirts....and as an added bonus free Tebow Broncos, Jets, and Patriots jerseys!!! It seems all 3rd world countries that recieved them found if they wore one of the Tebow jerseys in public soon lost their jobs shortly after...complained their rear ends became numb as if they had sat on a team bench for an entire football season....so they consider them cursed.

A great way to start the day............. a good laugh! Nice post.

6 is easy 7 is doable. Anything more is gravy.

6 wont be easy just look at the LINES on both sides of the ball very young and not enough of them on either side we all thought CARR and the kid from Florida would be tearing it up by there sophomore year and neither is on the team and that hurts we cant miss on the DL or OL in the next 2 recruiting classes.

You can't win in the SEC with freshmen on the line...we've proved it true for many, many years

You got that right, just look at the elite big DL and big OL is where its at till we get that we will be a 6 and 6 team in this league at best.:eek:hmy:

Global warming will change all that. Soon it will be too hot to play football in the SEC, and Minnesota will win multiple national titles. Go Gophers.

Heh...I wish I could forget. But I don't recall feeling this way over the past few years.

I think we will be improved in all of the "skill" positions on both sides of the ball. And I just have a gut feeling that we will be better at the line of scrimmage than people are worrying -- particularly along the OL. If all of that ends up being the case, then I think we'll see some improvement over last season. Butch's track record in turning teams around also plays into my cautious optimism.

I like our chances to win Utah State (although I don't expect it to be easy), Arkansas State, Florida (yeah, I know), UTC, UK and Mizzou (again, not easy) in Neyland. Throw in a win against Vandy in Nashville. That's 7 wins right there. (Remember, this is assuming I am correct about our team being improved.)

That leaves Oklahoma, UGA, Ole Miss, Bama and South Carolina -- all road games, except for Bama. I think UGA, Ole Miss and South Carolina will be competitive games. Win 2 of those -- or rise to the occasion at home against Bama and shock the world?

Seasons, like football programs, have an ebb and flow to them. We obviously won't know until we see them on the field. But I just have a feeling we might be in a position to over-achieve this year. Call me a dreamer.

Very true we were a fumble and bad call away from it happening. This team will be ready man. We will get 6 wins.

Actually, we will burp and cough our way to an 8-4 season. Maybe even 9-3 if we have a Houdini game along with upsetting two of the following: GA, SC, and FLa.

I see a distant flash of light. I hear a low rumble.
The promise of an orange storm coming.
The sky has a strange orange tint.
The clouds are repeated stabbed with white electric fire.
It's coming. It's coming. It's coming.
There' a stillness in the air.
A lull as if the world itself is waiting.
There's a sense of impending danger.
Something is about to happen.
An explosion of power unseen in recent times.
Listen fellow Vols fans, can't you hear?
An orange and white destiny is calling us.

This team will get at least 7 wins, and i think its very likely to see 8-4. We will beat FL, OU, OM.
