Read Pat Forde's ESPN.com Insider column today for an interesting take on the SEC voting. He essentially says Pearl has irritated his fellow coaches enough that they voted for the more established, popular John Brady.

I think we saw it early in the season with how upset Brady got with Pearl after our game with them, Tubby Smith also took offense to Coach Pearl. I think they all need to grow up...

i just read Doyels and Dodd's blogs....at least someone else see's what we do...also, John Pennington pointed it out on his blog as well yesterday afternoon, though his take on it was a little less of taking shots at the other coaches, rather that it's just a fact of life being in the SEC.

Gregg Doyel is one of Coach Pearl's biggest cheerleaders in the media. He always has great things to say about Bruce.

I take it that he is also out there writing to entertain and stir it up. CBP is just a fun guy to write and read about, but he can rub some the wrong way. Even people out here are asking and talking about UT's coach. Even the ones who don't know I went to UT bring him up when discussing bball.

I did like this part though:

Brady has had a wonderful season on the bench -- we noted as much in a Dribble last week -- but Pearl has been the SEC's best coach. Bruce Pearl, just so you understand, is the national coach of the year by anyone with a clue. We realize Dick Vitale has picked Roy Williams. That confirms our point about the clue.
