Congratulations Bruce! You deserved this honor, without a doubt. With all the work you put in and the discipline you instilled in these guys...no one deserves this more than you. Great job, CBP!

Some conference COY winners below:

ACC - Roy Williams
Big East - Jay Wright
Big Ten - Thad Matta
Big XII - Bill Self
SEC - John Brady
Pac 10 - Ben Howland

I've seen all of these fellas mentioned for possible NCAA COY winners on various BB/Sports sites on the world wide web...some more than others...but I have yet to find one with John Brady on it...they seem to always want to throw Bruce Pearl in my face as the candidate from the SEC.

What gives? How can this be that the recognized SEC COY isn't mentioned as a NCAA COY candidate?

Because the "recognized SEC COY" was a fluke. Lsu had a fine season, and yes, they beat us...but it was with more talent, not magical coaching. Course that's just my opinion, which you probably won't put much value in.

That and just about every coach in the SEC is jealous of Pearl and all of the attention that he got this year.
