CCM for SEC coach of the year.... now if we win the sec title i say National COY. That man can flat out coach. makes me proud to be a vol fan.:loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::rock:

He's definitly up there. Sadly I see Cal winning SEC coy (if undefeated) and the Haith at Missouri Natl COY if they go deep in tourney. But the talk is well deserved for CCM. He took a team predicted 11th in SEC and has given them a good shot at #2.

Cal will probably get it but it's a lot closer than it would have been otherwise

Bainer I believe.

Cal will only get it because they might (should) go undefeated. But anything less and the door opens for someone else. Being Cal, he is expected to coach at a high level, and not to mention he isn't the best liked guy out there.

Purely on SEC COY, CCM deserves it more. Cal did what was expected with another great UK team. CCM was able to do the unexpected and coach this team up. JMO, but what CCM has accomplished in the SEC is greater than what Cal has accomplished in the SEC because it is such a huge difference than what was expected.

Bingo!

when the coaches go to vote, and they have CCM at #2, and Cal at #1 undefeated, it will be very interested to see who gets their vote.

If Cal goes undefeated, he wins it. If he doesnt, CCM has a good shot if the vols can close the season well.

Admit it people. After losing to Austin Peay , Oakland and College of Charleston, who ever dreamed this team would have a fighting chance to be in the Dance. Not me. But they have shown incredible fortitude and fight and I couldn't be prouder of them. And the addition of Stokes didn't hurt. A win over Vandy and a couple wins in the tourney would put them at 19 wins,(can't count Chaminade). That would also be 10-6 in conference. Some big boys are fading including defending champ UConn, who has not been the same since we beat them.So who knows. But as someone said earlier, for me everything else is just gravy. CCM has proved he can motivate and coach on this level.Great job.:rock:

I'll add this last comment and then leave the thread...

Imo, CCM should win it. I would vote for him. He has taken a team predicted 2nd to last (or last) in the sec and finished top 3. He doesn't have any big time recruits like cal (except Stokes) and has done more with less than cal could ever do. If you gave Cal this team, i'm not confident in saying he goes 2nd. Cal wins because of recruiting and better than average coaching. CCM wins because decent recruiting and fantastic coaching.

Don't kid yourself. They had begun their fade before they came to Knoxville. Tennessee just made sure they didn't get better at their expense.

Never thought wed be so happy with 13 losses and a slim ass chance to get to the tourney. Hope you enjoy being avg.

Um, hate to tell you this but Tennessee basketball has never been anything BUT average.

I'm guessing you're about 15 years old and have no clue what you're talking about.

because if you are clearly you know a thing or 2 about being BELOW average...

as said you must be about 15 if you consider this to be an average year for tennessee basketball.

A team picked to finish 11th in conference is legitimately fighting for the second spot, and you are too naïve to observe this accomplishment. You sir are a buffoon of unreal proportions.

Love the way he always points to the other end of the court after a made basket telling the players to get back on D.

...and I mean EVERY made basket. I've never seen a coach make that gesture so many times.

I am an asst bball coach in Indiana. I know more abt basketball than you ever will and cbp was obviously too good for you idiots. Have fun in the NIT.
