People put way too much value into these recruit rating systems

Jimmer Fredette was a 3 star player as an example, there is no reason you can't go out and get the next Jimmer. I will pass no judgement until I see the kid play

OP what makes you think all "elite" players even wanna come to Tenn.? haha

We aren't a powerhouse when it comes to bball

OP didn't say "all elite players". Besides, what makes you think that elite players wouldn't want to come to Tennessee? Is Tobias Harris not elite? (Was) Scotty Hopson not elite when recruited?

Think about your logic first.

Not bashing your post totally because I agree with some of it but do you really think Bruce didnt see a need at PG? U could ask any hack off of this site and they could tell u that.

BP seemed to be obsessed with recruiting combo guards and transitioning them to point guards. It will be nice to have a true PG for once.

Youre right but he didnt say that did he? But since you bring up the point he didnt try to recruit a quality PG?

No question that he tried to recruit a quality point guard. It just never happened for him. We were stuck with signing combo guards and trying to turn them into point guards. Never worked very well for us.

OP decide if u want someone to build s program, or a one trick pony.

With the AAU scene the way it is, coaches literally have years of trust invested in then by these kids. It's hard, maybe impossible, and don't take this the wrong way, for a zo level coach to take over a program like UT and steal any recruits from march til July. A cal to uk or another elite coach to traditional powerhouse school might be able to do it, but even then u still have handlers to navigate thru and other recruiting tactics by coaches that are already in to deal with.

Sit back, chill, and enjoy the ride. Every kid u get isnt gonna be a homerun, and like another poster said, it's not like Bruce was recruiting kids who were all-stars

Don't take it the wrong way?
It sounds like KY fans have replaced the phrase "mid-major coach" with "Zo-level coach."
I take it that if NCSU, or whoever is still looking, hires Gregg Marshall, they'll be getting a "Zo-level coach."

I'm cool with our coach recruiting players he had previously recruited for Missouri St...but it should not be his first priorities!
I know he wants to have all this "connection" and "take care of" sort of crap but he needs to understand that he can now get more highly skilled players.
Of course these players are going to commit to TN!
He needs to go for big time players if he want TN to be big time. That's all I'm saying. You CAN always develop players but a program needs a couple of slam dunks.

I agree, let's just get rid of him already! Two weeks on the job and this is the best he can do??? He better cut this nice crap out so we can get some reaaaalllll ballers. Next thing you know he'll stop recruiting altogether and all the Missouri State players are gonna transfer here! He's turning us into a mid major!

... Point being you're jumping the gun just a little bit. For reals.
