Thought of this during the UM/FSU game.

What former power would you like to see return to prominence?

I hate Notre Dame, Nebraska, Michigan, etc. so I can't pull for them.

Good call IP

I'm from PA. so I'd could handle Penn St. and Pitt being on top again.

I meant to exclude the obvious - Tennessee from the the choice. It's the right answer though...

Let's just go back to like it was in the 90's - was fun watching top FSU/Miami teams - Florida was good, we were good, Nebraska was good... good times.

I'd say Nebraska if they were still running some form of option. I guess it would be good to see Miami return to glory.

Good OP.

Nebraska running the option was great because it did not hurt us in recruiting. Any option team that played Chavis destroyed his D however.

Nebraska running the option now would be great for us as a National Power because they would not be competing with us for recruits, but they are running a pro style offense now.

I like that BYU is back. They will always be the vacuum that sucks up Mormons, but after Mapu showed such promise and pissed away his NFL future with a mission, I am not eager to get more magic underwear wearers on campus.

I would like Miami or FSU to be back so that they can take recruits from Florida, but not back so they take recruits from us. Mikki Andrews is a dirty scumbag so that is a knock on FSU and Miami is more full of thugs than a Memphis dogfight.

BYU sure bring them back to national prominence!

I love Arkansas looking so good in a year when we do not have to play them!

I'm going to OSU, so it seems weird that I would say Michigan, but I've always respected them and want them to compete with OSU again so the rivalry stays exciting.

Yeah I hated Nebraska but it was pretty cool how they used to be able to run at you all day and there was nothing you could do about it. It'd be interesting to see a powerhouse run the option today.

I also don't mind Miami since they're the lesser of evils among the Florida schools.

I'm alone on this, but, though they're not exactly "down," I'd like for OSU to be able to earn some respect and actually win a NC. I thought they'd be set up for a legit run in 2010 but after the Navy game I don't think it will happen until they get new coordinators and Tressel stops calling plays. He reminds me so much of Fulmer it's not even funny.

Rich Rod will get them competitive with OSU soon, maybe even this year. Please tell me you're living in one of the south dorms. Those were the best for freshmen.

And yes, I think Michigan will soon be competitive unless they get too impatient and fire Rich Rod.

Those Nebraska power option teams were sure fun to watch.. Turner Gill, Tommie Frazier, Eric Crouch sure ran a exciting offense. I guess nowadays you can't run that type of offense and get recruits like you used to.

I'm using a lot of Tom Osborne's playbook for a Junior High team I coach and it's truly like the "scoring explosion" of the old Nebraska Teams when we run it correctly. People forget that there still is a lot of passing in this type of offense.

But the team I want to see "back" is Wyoming of course! Sugar Bowl in '68 Fiesta Bowl '76 87-88 Holiday Bowl and 3 WAC championships. It's to bad we have been horrible the past 15 years and ruined any amount of respect.

Definitely Nebraska. 'Twas quite a sight stopping in Lincoln one Saturday many years ago and seeing everyone, and I mean everyone, in Husker red. Great tradition and classy fans.

two schools for two petty childish reasons:

Michigan- because I HATE Ohio State.

Notre Dame- because I HATE USC (and because "Rudy" always gets me.) :)

I don't like these teams, but wouldn't mind them getting back up:

Miami
Notre Dame
Michigan

I don't know if I'd ever consider Georgia Tech a "power", but they're the only other team I root for and I'd love to see them start dominating the ACC.
