Tennessee vs Missouri Prediction, Game Preview, Lines, How To Watch

The Tiger defense really is that good, but sort of like Tennessee’s performance against Kentucky, a few big early plays will set the tone. The other side will have its moments – Missouri really will seem like it always has the ball – but the explosion of the Vols will return.

Missouri keeps finding new ways to lose to average or bad teams. The only reason this isn't a blowout is because Tenn comes out really flat after the loss. Won't be because of Mizz

We won’t come out flat. This is the best year these juniors and seniors have known. They know they have to finish strong these next three games. Weather could slow down our big plays, but Heupel needs to adjust for that eventuality this week. I think we win by three or four touchdowns. If it’s nasty weather, two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, I could see a score similar to the above. And the experts (Herbstreit, Reece, CBS Sports, etc) will say it wasn’t an impressive win.

When referring to media hacks, it is always advisable to put the word "experts" in quotes. These are glorified, highly paid fans with no more knowledge than any ordinary fan that pays attention. I see better takes on this forum every week than from any of the so-called "experts".

I've said this dozens of times, too. The only thing different between them and us all is that they've usually lucked into their positions. The quality of ESPN/sports media analysts is in the toilet, especially since all of us can go out so easily and learn all we want about the game and any team we want to watch.

Don't minimize the work and price-paying that many broadcasters did to get to their positions, not all lucked into those spots. Most have a voice and look (if on TV) or a way with words that can generate clicks and/or views, that's why they are there.

My point is referring to their football knowledge, which is no greater (and often less so) than any fan who pays attention and is remotely objective in their viewpoints. Most of them have built in agendas that infect practically everything they say and almost always colors their "expert" commentary. Your last point is dead on, and I'll never understand how anyone sits and watches the dreck that passes for analysis on any network sports commentary show. I quit about 15 years ago.

Then say goodbye to the playoffs
Personally, I hope this team doesn't approach every game left as though they have to blow out the other team. That puts a whole different pressure on them and may cause some crazy mistakes. They've won 8 games this year by putting forth their best effort and trying to win each game. I'm hoping we go 11-1 in the regular season and let the chips fall where they may regarding the playoffs. If we blow people out, all the better, but just win.
