Chad Ocho Cinco

What a crock. Does the NFL and Reebok not realize that the sales of Ocho Cinco jersey will more than offset the cost of the jerseys that have already been made. Also, what do they do when a player changes teams? They certainly don't make those players pay for their old jerseys.

i think it's a contractual thing or something.

this is ridiculous at this point, course chad will probably buy all the jerseys knowing him

I feel sorry for any idiot who feels the need to buy a Bungles jersey with "ocho cinco" on the back.

his 15 minutes of fame are just about used up and the Bungles will be such a bad team that no one will want to take a chance on Johnson infecting their locker room with his narcissism.

I'd be willing to bet you 70% percent of NFL teams could use a receiver who is all but guaranteed to produce 90 catches and 1200+ yards. Hell, the Redskins would have given us a 1st and a 3rd round pick for him not 3 months ago.

I never said he wasn't a good receiver, but the NFL's history is full of extremely talented players who's careers were cut short because they couldn't keep their heads on straight.

Absolutely true. The only thing I can say about Chad is you have never heard of him getting in trouble by the police like some of these other clowns.

if there really are 100,000 C. Johnson Bengals jerseys, I'm not so certain that Reebok could offset the costs from the new Ocho Cinco jerseys. I don't blame Reebok.

If the idiot were stupid enough to buy up all the current jerseys (and not even Chad Javon Ocho Cinco is THAT stupid), then I highly suggest that the Bengals change his jersey number to number 80 or something. :eek:lol:

I don't think you get it. Why should Reebok eat the costs of Chad Johnson jerseys that they've already produced just because Chad Johnson is an absolute moron?

So when an owner trades a star player at the trading deadline this year, will they have to eat the cost of the jerseys? How about when Kobe changed his number?

I think this is a crock, just another example of the NFL trying to run everything and don't kid yourself it isn't about the cost of the jerseys. It's about the NFL not wanting this clown to set a precedent by changing his name.

T.O. is still playing. Randy Moss is still playing.

This is a copycat league. Teams will not let common sense get in the way of adding a player that has a history of being a, well, attention whore.

Doesn't look like he will have anywhere close to 1200 yards this season. So Far he is a Fantasy bust who is dragging my team down. :) His QB is also putting up monster numbers. :)

They probably could in the first week. 100,000 is not that many.

Are you joking? Just how many fans do you think the Cincinnati Bengals have? They're a horrible franchise. Now, you have to take that small subset of NFL fans and ask yourself how many of them even like Chad Johnson. That's a much smaller subset because Chad Johnson is a first class ass. Then, how many of the people that actually like Chad Johnson want to own a Chad Johnson jersey? Then, how many of those people that want a Chad Johnson jersey can afford one of these jerseys? 100,00 jerseys is a hell of a lot more than you think, particularly for a player that is performing as hideously as Chad Johnson is so far this year.

Who said you had to be a Bengals fan to buy an Ocho Cinco jersey??? As if, every guy who had ever bought a jersey only did so of his favorite team.

And who mentioned anything about the Bengals franchise???

So I'll say again, they would probably sell 100,000 Ocho Cinco jersey's in the first week. I'm not holding a gun to your head and asking you to agree.

the best part of this story is that Mr Ocho Cinco is suckin it up this year... 8 catches for 88 yards after 3 weeks, great job... it also drives me crazy that "ocho cinco" mean 8-5 not 85, what a moron..

if the nfl lets this happen, whats next? will they allow nike or reebok to pay a player to change their last name to Reebok or Nike so that they can put it on the back of a jersey and advertise???
