Okay guys we're finally here, who do you guys have taking the Sprint Cup? It is only a two man race now that the other ten drivers have finally been eliminated. Smoke trails Carl Edwards by only 3 points, after leading the most laps today and finishing in 3rd while Carl finished 2nd.

Carl Edwards Homestead Stats
Wins: 2
Top 5: 4
Top 10: 6

Avg Start: 13.4
Avg Finish: 5.7

Tony Stewart's Homestead Stats
Wins: 2
Top 5: 3
Top 10: 6

Avg Start: 14.4
Avg Finish: 12.4

Its great to finally enter the final weekend of the season without having a driver just be able to cruise around and clinch a championship. I still have to give the edge to Smoke just because he still has mo on his side.

As a diehard fan of his, I'm staying true to my heart and going with Edwards. Since the championship is going to go down to the last race, I feel like Edwards has a slight upper hand in being really good at Homestead in the past few races there. Should be good. GO CARL!!!!

Since I already picked Smoke back a couple races ago, I'll not change now, although I'm not as certain as then. Carl is holding up to the pressure better than I expected. One edge I gave to Stewart was having been a champ twice. It should be a memorable finale, giving a large attaboy to NASCAR for the change in format.

I don't think Carl will crack under the pressure like Denny Hamlin did last year. It's really amazing how consistent he has been throughout the Chase. With all the things that can go wrong in nine races, his worst finish is 11th. I just hope and pray all those good finishes don't lead to a major blowup in the last race that costs him the title.

What would the points have looked like this year under the old Chase format? Under the old old format?

Somehow I feel like there will be big wreck and JJ will come out of smoke untouched and win it all...

I heard it mentioned that Carl would have clinched the championship over Jimmie by 59 points yesterday under the pre-Chase system.

Def want Stewart to win. I felt like for him to win it he either had to be tied with Edwards or have the lead going into homestead. I feel like his only shot is to win the race. Roush has dominated at homestead. Stewart is gonna have to fight 3 fords while they will let the 99 go by.

I know I must be unethical but I swear I don't know why someone like Stewart wouldn't go to a Joe Nemechek and say, "Hey Joe, if you "accidentally" wipe out the 99 car when he goes to lap you I'll pad your pockets with enough $$ for you to run 15 races next year and no one will have to know about it." Provided Joe (or whoever) would keep their mouth shut I don't see why this hasn't happened in the past.

I say that tongue in cheek in a way - I know most drivers have too much respect for one another to do that. There's a couple that if they were in contention to win a Cup though that I'm not so sure another driver wouldn't just take them out willfully to keep them from winning the title - bribed or not.

I have a feeling either Edwards or Stewart will have trouble early in the race - crash or engine - and it won't be going all the way down to the final lap.

It was a widely held opinion that in turn for help with hand me down parts and tires, Marcis would either spin out or spin someone else out to bring out a caution just at the right time for Richard Childres's driver.

I witnessed Marcis intentionally spin Terry Labonte when Labonte was the leader late in the race at Bristol . This was a year when Labonte was a title contender.

lean toward Stewart, but I'd like to see Ford sweep the manufacturer's titles

I've thought of stuff like that before. In the same manner one driver or team would pay a lesser driver to wreck or wreck someone else, they could pay a crew member to intentionally screw up a late pitstop. I choose to believe stuff like that doesn't happen, but I'm sure I'm fooling myself thinking that way.

Chevy already clinched that after Kansas. They've won the last 9 years in a row. They have more drivers on the track than Ford though.

Stewart has 4 Hendrick cars and Newman to help him. After the way Ford (and Roush) acted at Talladega by telling Bayne not to help Gordon, they should return the favor to Roush at Homestead and help Stewart beat Edwards.

True, but they haven't ran up front at homestead like the roush cars have. Either way, I hope Tony pulls it out.

I don't think you will see much of an effort to slow down either of the contenders by their other teammates or related teams. They may let their own guy by a little easier or let them lead a lap, but NASCAR will be watching for blocking. It really has not happened in past years. Using pit strategy to try to put cars between them could happen.

I want Edwards to win it. I think he will if his team is as strong as everyone says they are at Homestead.

Both have two wins and six top fives at Homestead, but both of Edwards wins have been since Stewart's including last race. I think Stewart has a slight edge due to his having the experience of winning two titles to Edward's none. However, Edwards so far has not appeared to be affected by the pressure as I thought he might be. Tony has the momentum with his four wins in the nine Chase races plus he dominated Phoenix.

My prediction is that whoever wins will win in a large part due to the other team's mistake, either a pitstop miscue or a chief/driver error. A late caution could provide an opportunity for very interesting and all so important pit strategy calls.
