Charlie Crème is the leading expert on women's bracketology for the ncaa tournament. He is now saying the Lady Vols could miss the tournament! This is a huge turn around for him, as just last night he was saying there was no way TN misses the tournament. Not making the tournament would be a huge devastation for our program and further indictment on this coaching staff. I am in disbelief... a NCAA tournament without the lady vols???

Worst-case scenario

The Lady Vols continue the downward spiral and lose each of their next two games, to Georgia at home and to Auburn on Thursday in Jacksonville.

Result: That would end Tennessee's chances and its run of appearances in every NCAA women's tournament ever played. Two more losses to finish the season would mean a 16-14 overall record, 7-10 in the SEC, and a four-game losing streak.
It's possible Tennessee might not be good enough to make it when the dust settles in the rest of the country anyway, but losses in their next two games would give the Lady Vols no chance of reaching the NCAA tournament.

That would be a shame if we miss the tournament.

Losing to the LSU and Bama will certainly put you on the bubble. If they can't beat Georgia I figure they are done.

Is being a sacrificial lamb in the 1st round really even desirable?

OTOH, remember Cuonzo and the infamous play-in game situation.

What's sad is we'd have a favorable bracket as a 7 seed. Sweet 16 matchup with 1 seed SC (we've shown we can beat them).. Holly could back her way into a final 4 with this team.... if the team hasn't quit on her completely.

When football was falling, we had alot of our streaks broken. Loss to Vandy. Loss to Ky. Missing Bowl game. No players drafted in the NFL.
Now football is rebounding.

Should we keep Holly for an additional season, we will see more streaks broken. They will continue to fall further and further...

I dont know which is worse. Making the tournament only to lose in the First round. Or the fact that we wouldn't even win the WNIT tournament. Probably wouldn't even make it past the First two rounds of it.

And this is bad how? Perhaps the fall of the LV empire happened too quickly. Reality hasn't sunk in yet. Pat Summit is gone. Deal with it.

Nope, Holly has taken care of all of them.

i don't consider any seeding favorable to them when they have been struggling and losing to bad teams all season. worst case scenario is that they do make the tournament but are put in the same region as UConn.

I brought this up yesterday in one of the threads. Their NCAA tournament streak is now in jeopardy.

Just being a realistic fan... That bubble has popped we are out... If we get in with anything higher that 9 seed it was clearly to save face.. But maybe missing the tourney is something these girls need next year they won't take anything for granted... You can learn alot from sitting at home and watching

The season has deteriorated to the point where we have to root for teams like Minnesota to lose, because they are on the same bubble that the Lady Vols are on. I don't ever recall being in this position. I don't like it.
