Charlie Creme: "Tennessee Lady Vols in Jeopardy of Missing the NCAA Tournament"

It looks like the players might be done. If they're not going to put forth the effort and compete, then what's the point of carrying the humiliation to the post-season?

If they can't play for pride, for each other and for UT, then they'll send the seniors out with a loss, be one and done in Jacksonville and call it a season. That would be a shame, but they have to want it and if they don't, they don't.

When football was falling, we had alot of our streaks broken. Loss to Vandy. Loss to Ky. Missing Bowl game. No players drafted in the NFL.
Now football is rebounding.

Should we keep Holly for an additional season, we will see more streaks broken. They will continue to fall further and further...

glug, glug, glug....and who is surprised by this revelation? Anyone with a pulse understands this. Even if they were let in the tournament (as a pity case), being blown out in a first game loss is a victory? Really? :eek:lol:

Just being a realistic fan... That bubble has popped we are out... If we get in with anything higher that 9 seed it was clearly to save face.. But maybe missing the tourney is something these girls need next year they won't take anything for granted... You can learn alot from sitting at home and watching

With one exception--the coach. This coach isn't going to learn anything--that's the problem; sat on the bench for 30 years with Pat and didn't learn anything except how to warm the bench.

I don't think it matters much if we set another negative record with this supposedly highly rated team. I think getting blasted by a mid-major would be the way it will end if we get in the tourney and if we don't well maybe a change has a possibility of being made.

What's sad is we'd have a favorable bracket as a 7 seed. Sweet 16 matchup with 1 seed SC (we've shown we can beat them).. Holly could back her way into a final 4 with this team.... if the team hasn't quit on her completely.

You are dreaming or just like to B S

i don't consider any seeding favorable to them when they have been struggling and losing to bad teams all season. worst case scenario is that they do make the tournament but are put in the same region as UConn.

No way they make it to UConn

No way they make it to UConn

If the Lady Vols are seeded 8 or 9 in the NCAA Tourney they will have a one-in-four chance of being sent to Storrs, CT where, if they win their first game, they would play UConn in their second. (ESPN will beg for this!)

Yes there is and they should turn it down if offered provided they miss the NCAA which I believe they will.

My query was more of a sardonic, yet rhetorical, interrogative sentence bemoaning the state of UT women's basketball at this time, and the possibility of missing the ncaa tournament for the first time ever, than a genuine question. I'd rather not see our girls relegated to the tournament no one cares about.
