AUSTIN, Texas -- Charlie Strong is shaking up his coaching staff after Texas' 38-3 loss to Notre Dame.

Strong demoted co-offensive coordinators Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline on Tuesday and named receivers coach Jay Norvell his new playcaller.

Strong's biggest problem is QB...he doesn't have one. He's had two recruiting cycles to grab a solid transfer or a JUCO and hasn't.

I still think he's a good coach. Probably not a good recruiter. It's tough to win in the big 12 with no qb. I watched part of the ND game, they'd be better running the wildcat instead of using swoopes. They have a freshman LB that looked really good

He had some recruiting success at Louisville but there is a big asterisk beside it. That came with a lot of help from Clint Hurtt who was instrumental in recruiting many players Louisville signed from Florida including Teddy Bridgewater. Hurtt is now under a show cause penalty due to violations at Miami and is now coaching with the Bears. Charlie Strong is starting to look like a really bad fit at Texas and they are WAY overpaying him.

I haven't watched any Texas games so I've never personally seen how bad they are, but it's not surprising because Strong is getting absolutely obliterated in Texas recruiting. The other Texas schools + LSU and Bama are raiding the players that used to sign with UT. He won't last long if it keeps up.

if strong is a good coach then texas is a bad fit for him, he will be gone in another year if not sooner.

His defense gave up 38 points. You don't see there may also be a problem with his D ?

Mack Brown left that program in shambles. The problem is Texas fans don't want to give him any time because they think they should own the college football world.

If they let him be and gave him five years, he'd have that program in the elite.

Fans aren't the problem, though. There were several boosters who weren't exactly elated with the hiring. They will be his downfall, not the fans. Money talks, and like most programs, Texas receives a lot of money from their boosters.
