I remember reading something about this months ago and forgot who the "guy" was. I mentioned it yesterday in the CS thread and noone said anything about it. Obviously Strong's "connections" to recruiting the Miami area are very questionable. If I am Dave Hart, I am very careful about who I hire/allow the coach to bring to Knoxville. "I want total control"!! That is when guys like this Hurtt can destroy you.

Or he could always do a Cutcliffe and say you take me, you take my whole staff. Alot of coaches value the guys who have been with them for a while.

Why is it always the DLine coach that causes trouble? Ed Ogeron, the coach at UNC with Butch Davis, now this guy Hurtt. I even heard the DLine coach for the Philly Eagles got fired for being an ahole. Weird.

Either way, anyone think Strong would hire a guy like Ellis Johnson to coordinate his defense? That's a guy who, like Strong, has had success as an SEC DCoordinator. Put both minds together and I think we could get some really great results!

Whoever the DCoordinator is, I want a guy who knows how to be successful in the SEC. I don't want another Wilcox whose defense was meant to stop Spread Option West Coast teams like Oregon or Arizona not smashmouth power football in the SEC. It's a different animal. Guys like Strong and Johnson know what an SEC defense needs to look like.

All I got from those articles was a lot of "who cares". NCAA is a joke. Hurtt just needs to cover his tracks better.

Hopefully,we have done all this for a reason. We have 86min for Grude. We surely should be able to afford ANY OC& staff we want. We need proven O&D coordinators. Preferrably from SEC experience. I,myself,do NOT want a puzzy azz spread Oregon *** offense. That looks good against Arizona SW Tech A&M,but this is SEC. I wish we`d pay Spurrier 6 mil.
