Charlie Strong to Louisville?

I heard this rumor earlier as well. I hope it's true. He deserves his shot finally to be a head coach somewhere. As for the Florida recruits, don't be surprised if any even think about switching. Urban has been pimping Charlie to be a HC since before the season began. These recruits knew he was probably gone after the season. I expect Dan McCarney to become the new DC. (Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see some leave either. Recruiting is a funny game).

My guess would be Elam and Dorsey out of your current committs. As far as the 10 stud silents ya'll have, I don't know. Powell maybe?

Well if true then congrats to Charlie...I think its a perfect fit for him to show what he can do as a head coach....Jeff Luc is gonna look so nice in orange and white.

He said Rumor.. Won't be a link chief..

Thanks CHIEF.

Rumors have to come from somewhere, so i don't it is unreasonable to ask for a link to where these rumors are coming from. Unless of course they are heard on the radio, but the OP didn't specify that.

Thanks for the input though chief.

Is Louisville the best job that will be open that would consider Charlie as a head coach? I can't think of another that would be better. What do you think?

Well, I guess Virginia would be considered a better coaching gig, seeing how they are in the ACC. It is definetely better than the Memphis job. There is no way Notre Dame hires an unproven guy. Those are the main job openings right now....

It would be an interesting change in philosophy for Jurich. I think he could win there, but it is going to take a while.

I wonder what Mike Leach is going to do? Hard to imagine him sticking around TT after what happened last off season.

I tend to think Meyer will be fine, but I'd be glad to see him go. Definitely won't help Florida.

Hard to argue against the reality that the offense lost a step this year w/o Dan Mullen.
I think we can expect something like that if Strong leaves. But Meyer's recruiting classes bring in enough talent that the drop off shouldn't be like what Richt went through from Van Gorder to Martinez....or did we think "Richt will be fine..."

I think that had a lot to do with losing Percy Harvin.

Championships are won with defense.

I think that with out Charlie Strong that UF would not have either of their NC's. They would have lost at least two games this year with out him.

What does UF look like with out him?

He is on some head coaching lists for next year.

I'm pretty sure I'd look like a pretty good defensive coordinator/co-defensive coordinator if I had talent like he had in 2006 and 2008.

Had not seen this so forgive me if its been mentioned...

Former Louisville QB Chris Redman (now with the Falcons) said that Strong will be the next Cardinal HC on the Falcons Radio show today. Redman reportedly closed by saying that Strong's wife and kids were in already in the area to get enrolled in schools.

With these rumors and the Carlos Dunlap stuff, I bet the Gators really might struggle to stay focused this weekend.
