Chavis is a decent coach. I still remember the second half of last year, though, when our defense couldn't stop anybody to save their lives. 60+ points allowed by Vanderbilt and Kentucky, anybody?

he took a sub par defense and turned them in to dominant in a year.

The fourth quarter against South Carolina? But this year seems more like the defense is the saving grace. One trend I've begun to notice with UT football is that either the defense is performing very well without an offense to back it up (usually the case) or the offense is blazing but the defense is falling asleep (also sometimes the case). We've got great talent, Fulmer just needs to make it so they can sync up.

Chavis has kept us in EVERY big game in the last 5 years regardless of the talent he has.
