If that was thru 24 games...he made 10 3s and 61 pts in the last 3 games.

So thru 27 games:
Points scored:
Chaz Lanier: 485

3 point shots made:
Chaz Lanier: 94

I don't know the comparisons for knecht & lofton

Edit: thru 27 games, Knecht had 544 pts

Come on now. He's definitely had some good to great games in conference play, but let's not act like he's been this super consistent scorer in leauge play either because he has not. He was less than stellar in games against UK, AU, Mizzou, UF, and maybe one more. He has played much better as of late. I hope he closes out these last few games on a tear, and really goes off in the tournament.

Of course you understand too, that we've been playing the very best teams in college basketball in conference play. He will be first team All-SEC. There are a number of great teams with great players. Marathon season. He came up big when the other two best players missed an entire game against a top 4 team, and led us in scoring.

He’s scored double digit points in all but one game in conference, and that game we won by a lot. He’s scored 15+ points in 8 of 14 conference games. He was a 4 year mid major player, who is averaging 18 points in what some have called the greatest conference ever. He hasn’t changed who he is. He single-handedly won games against UF at home and at A&M. He gets targeted as the one player to stop on our team and still puts up numbers. I don’t know what some of you guys expect. Pretty damn consistent.

Chaz Lanier tied the Tennessee men's record for most points in a NCAA tournament game tonight with 29 points.
Not too shabby.

He may need to break that record (a couple of times) if we are going to win a Natty.
We are most likely going as far as he willing to put us on his back and carry us.

DK had 37 against Purdue in the E8 last spring. You may have meant to write that Laneir’s 29 was the 2nd most ever in an NCAA Tournament game behind Knecht.

ha... I honestly had a feeling that might be wrong. They said it on the news and I then looked at first article I seen on it and they were wrong, too ( or at least misleading).

I posted it anyways and figured someone would correct it directly. Thx for looking it up/remembering it, I've slept since then and tbo was too lazy to look it up.

I thought I remembered Dalton going for 30+ on at least one tournament game last year.
Maybe they meant in ' first round'?🤔

But yeah, the part I said about us going as far as we can ride on his scoring back is most definitely fact, tho.

Edit: I seen your edit, that is probably it.

Laneir’s 29 would be the most ever in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds by a Vol in the Tourney. DK didn’t eclipse 29 until the 4th round. 👍🏼

...............I went back and watched to see if I misheard, but I didn't. John Sartori who does sports news for WVLT 8 on CBS got it dead wrong!
