Yeah, we all want a tourney, but it won't happen for a while.

you answer these posts too fast, I'm still trying to get my bearings. I'd love to see a playoff system, but we both know there is too much money involved to allow that to happen.

There could still be money made. Have kind of a cascade, with the most money going towards the national champions, then next most for the runner-up, then the next most for the semi-final runner-ups, then a lower amount for quarter final runner-ups.

Yes but the old boys network would lose their power, not to mention the holier than thou writers that get to vote. Why are the polls public? I've heard the AP Poll is public, but I’ve yet to see a link to the voting.

I forget where to find it, too.

We've figured this out before... Have the champions of the ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, SEC, Pac-10 have an automatic bid, then three more at-large bids for an entry, then have them face off based on rankings. 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, etc.

But the control would be gone, does anyone even know who or what the BCS is ? It's hard enough to find info on the SEC or NCAA.

Like how the BCS is set up?

This last year, it was the computer calculations of team rankings based 1/3 on the votes of members of the media, 1/3 based on the votes of 60 some odd coaches of D-IA teams and 1/3 of an overall ranking of computer rankings.

They are averaged out and the rankings are determined from that average.

The computer calculations are based on the polls and the polls are nothing more than a popularity contest. Why do you think the AP gave the BCS a cease and desist order.
They didn’t want their pollster to be exposed to kickbacks and corruption.

The computer polls use the human poll positions in their algorithms, and the algorithms are not published, kind of like black box voting machines.
