I think we've done it 4 times. All against very good teams (Florida, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia). We're 1-3 in those four matches. Not horribly pitiful given the tier of competition.

I'm all for it. It is visually stunning, and reflects the crowd energy well. It certainly doesn't hurt our chances. Lads gotta love looking up at it from the field.

It’s not really a snub against THE great UT. Yeah I hated it at the time but if I were him coaching at any college team In The world and UT came knocking and TN wasn’t a complete dumpster fire I would be listening.

Hahaha, yep I didn’t even see it. My degree is in accounting and data analytics, and I work as an analyst for DOE. So, a lot of data curation and presentations. Apparently google knows my search history well.

I love Neyland checkered, it's the best sight in the world to me.

Having said that...if it's a night game and our players are wearing black jerseys then that's the wrong time to checker Neyland IMO.

Orange and black to checker Neyland just won't look right because black is NOT our school color.

Checker Neyland on a different game rather than Orange and black.

Just my opinions.

I'd love to see a Checker Neyland again. There's an extra dose of energy in the stadium that's undeniable during those games and always more false start penalties by the visiting teams. Game results weren't where we'd have liked them to of been, but that's in spite of, not because of.

I have to agree though that Ole Miss probably isn't the right game to do it for, as well as that the attendance needs to get back up first. It's an amazing look, but needs to be a full stadium.

I like the blackout idea too and wish the Univ. had gotten behind that for the Gamecocks game to go along w/the dark mode jerseys.

Folks quit playing to Kiffins ego with the popcorn and hoopla. Just bring a packed house and show em how NEYLAND ROCKS! Put on the laser show, play rocky top and the jungle bring your A game as fans. I am sure the staff has the players focused on one game at a time. This week it's USC, next week it is Mississippi not the coach. Break the popcorn out after the game, save the checkered stadium and all the extra frills for another game. Just be a loud place the next 2 games. This needs to be all about business! Come fired up come ready!!!!!! First things first we need to take care of South Carolina, there are no gimmies in the SEC. GBO!!!!!!

It was a grassroots organic thing the first time it happened.
Two Vol fans put up a web site showing each Neyland section either Orange or White.
But I think they took the site down a few years ago.
Someone would need to duplicate it.

Look at ticket prices and availability.....ole miss game will be rocking. I bought 4 off the secondary market today for well over face. Checker Neyland is cool, you are probably the one that complains about those d@mn standers in front of you too.
