Cheering Reprimand

There's a huge difference between enthusiasm and idiocy. How is it "enthusiastic" to be screaming like a mental patient during a timeout?
:lolabove: exactly...i think there's a big difference here...some people don't get it...it's the difference between smart fans that know when noise makes a difference, and when to, well, just sit down and shut up.

beginning of the game, kickoffs, when we're on defense...go nuts, i'm all for it, as long as you're not being obsene or using profanity, have a ball, and get as loud as you want. but if we're on offense or in a tv time out or a timeout...what's the point, really, of just screaming just to call yourself "enthusiastic"? at that point, "enthusiastic" can turn in to obnoxious real quick.

she'd probably get on my nerves to.

Now, who has the bigger problem here...her or the people sitting around her without the jewels to say something to her at the game and go whining to the UT athletic dept?

In that video she looked like she was on something. She didnt even seem to be saying anything. Just throwing her arms around and making a weird noise. I could see where these people are comming from if they had to spend a whole game next to her

Doesn't seem it matters any longer. She's apparently been sufficiently embarassed by the whole deal that she no longer wants to go to games. There's the shame. A longtime fan can finally afford seats, and then literally gets booed out of 'em by everyone from the fans around her to the University. What am I saying? This.
There had to be a better way of dealing with this...

see the last part of my post...i can't believe people went crying to the UT athletic dept about this lady, instead of just asking her to cool it...who's really more pathetic here?

I listened to the radio show when she called in and talked for a while...or at least part of it...

The lady was so annoying, I had to turn the radio off.

I couldn't stand to listen to her talk and do the idiotic "cheer" things she did, and this was less than 10 minutes. Nails on a chalkboard is more pleasant. I would rather stand in the concourse somewhere else in the stadium for the entire game than sit by her for one quarter.

...and I'm not an old fogey fan, I'm 26, and a recent UT grad.

I was under the impression that they did ask her to cool it numerous times and that didn't work out too well.

I didn't get that from the article either. I just got that impression reading some of the comments on this forum and others from some of the people that sit near her.
