Cheif's Prevent Defense Bites LSU's BUTT

Anyone ragging on Chavis after UT's defense gave up 721 yards to a Sun Belt team today is clueless.

You let a very average QB score in like 30 seconds on your great D.

I warned a local big time LSU fan that when the game is on the line 'Third and Chavis' will let the opponent march down the field with a cushion defense. We saw it all the time here. He has had the benefit of outstanding athletes to overshadow his foolhardy philosophy.

Remember how he cost us the Cal game out there? We score to go ahead with a little over a minute to go and the fool goes into the prevent. If that wasn't enough, when Cal gets to our three yard line the idiot has our corners stand in the CENTER of the end zone. Remember the offensive coordinator on television when they panned a shot of him seconds before that last play? He was laughing because Chavis gave them a gift touchdown....he saw that coming. The QB just raised up and zipped it out to the receiver for the easiest touchdown you would ever see.

Third Down Chavis......the fool will never learn.

Huh? You talking about the 2007 Cal game? Because that's totally not how that game ended, at all.

Other than a few plays (screens) LSU called and played great D. Take out 2 minutes before half and the 2 minutes at the end of the game and he basically shut them down.

They brought the house and got burned on a great play call.

The screen was just a good play call & executed perfect. It helped the D wasn't looking for it.

After playing soft down the field it was to obvious at that point.

The corner was playing way too loose on the one side, that was FR Collins. I did not see it as a prevent. The Bama OC called screens at perfect times, you take those screens out and Bama had a hard time.

I felt like it was one of those... it just wasn't meant to be moments, at least to me.

I have no problem with the team or the coaches, I actually felt at a few points in the game if LSU would have caught a break it was going to be a washout but Bama's D kept it close.

I feel very good about next year, tons of freshman, RS freshman, and sophomores were playing. Win or lose it was what LSU needed.

his lsu D choked in the title game and choked tonight. How is that "great?"

it's not his fault that the LSU offense was ABYSMAL. Kind of hard for a defense to keep a great offense at bay when their own team can't even score.

He has nothing to be ashamed of in that Bama NC game. Jordan Jefferson had the cry face on the whole game.

And his defense wasn't necessarily to blame for the loss this past weekend either. Chavis has no control over Miles going 0-for-4 on "plays that you better convert or you look like an idiot and help the opposition out way too much"
