I'm only a casual lady Vol fan, so please don't take this post as me professing to be an expert or anything. But Graves and Russell have to embrace being a big. They have to want contact inside and fight for rebounds better. I know Graves has several blocks and can step out to 15-20 and knock it down. But the need is coming from not having a consistent inside presence, and with their size and athleticism that should NOT be the case. jmo

Lefteye..I just came to say I love your avatar..carry on

So, in the interests of learning more about what is actually going on, these protential future lady vols and/or their parents Google "lady vols forums" and a link sends them to this site where they can quench their thirst for knowledge. That is really going to help recruiting but then as sophisticated as recruiting has become, some posters here already know that.

This forum will have little if any effect upon anyone quenching their thirst for knowledge. I doubt that many future recruits or their parents know that this forum exist. I would guess that you were making an attempt to be a humorist, and that is all good.

Let's get real no matter how sophisticated recruiting has become, adverse articles and statements, the rumor mill, and bad press can have a negative impact upon a tream's ability to recruit. Add to all this our recruiting issues. Recruiters will use such information to shy recruits away from a program.

You would be very, very surprised.

Hopefully I don't get in trouble...

But damn, you guys are stacked with loads of talent. The lack of a recruiting class isn't an issue if you have other factors at play. I believe a few years ago UCONN had only one top 100 recruit in their class.

The only explanation to not blowing out "lesser" opponents is coaching. I'm a UCONN fan, but also would love to play you guys again in my lifetime. Hopefully a new coach comes soon.

From Chris Pendley Tennessee Lady Vols: Taking Stock (Part 1) - Rocky Top Talk Point guard play. Tennessee's been in this weird no-man's-land with point guard play, splitting duties between Jordan Reynolds, Andraya Carter, and Te'a Cooper. None of them have been a strong stabilizing force, and there have been times where Cooper's game reminds me of Simmons' game in all the wrong ways. Well from what i have seen so far he is 100% correct about Cooper.

Don't know which thread this fits, but one plus for the LV is that the conference schedule works in our favor.

There are 4 other ranked SEC schools (3 currently in Top Ten) and 3 others who got votes in latest AP poll.

All seven schools only appear once on the regular schedule. None of the three teams we play twice (Alabama, Arkansas, Vandy) are ranked (not even "honorable mention").

Deerpark is correct. Typically, the tech savy recruits do read the VolNation forums. Cellphones w/Internet access...things have changed.

I read the article. Mild disagreement about defense. PPG is only one measure of defense. But I see too many lapses - collapsing and leaving a shooter open. A complete inability to stop dribble penetration - this requires help defense and the LV's aren't very good at help IMO. Losing track of a hot scorer. Poorly executed switches and switch-backs.

Texas has been the LV's best opponent to date and Texas scored 64. Not bad perhaps but Texas missed 12 free throws. They could have scored in the low 70's.

The defense is a lot better than the offense, but for a coach that preaches defense to the degree Holly does, holding cupcakes and mid-major teams to scores in the mid-50's really isn't very good.
