CHIEFS vs EAGLES Official SUPER BOWL LIX Discussion Thread

Imagine the biggest win in your franchise history’s in 30+ years and you spend that trolling some dude on volnation

Credit to the Commanders.

Daniels has succeeded being a very solid QB for the whole game, they’ve made the most of their scoring opportunities, and they’ve kept the Lions offense from regaining the advantage in the second half.

The Commanders giving up a high amount of rush yards wasn’t a flaw because the Commanders offense had no critical mistakes.

And sign Darnold? Justin Fields? The ghosts of Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins? Derek Carr? Carson Wentz? Garrapolo? Gardner Minshew? Mariota? Trey Lance? Give the Jets draft picks for a well-over-the-hill Rodgers?

That’s pretty much your free agency class this year. I imagine they’re keeping the guy around; he was a big part in getting them to 14-2.

His three turnovers cost them this game and there should be repercussions for it. Maybe even give Hooker a chance.

Being a Vols fan, I know how the Lions fans have to be feeling right now.

A very solid performance by the Commanders tonight in Detroit because the Commanders offense made no critical mistakes, and the Commanders defense has been reliable to protect the lead.

I see I was proven very wrong about the Lions defense forcing Daniels to make critical mistakes, and the Lions rushing attack being effective was fruitless because the Commanders continued to repeatedly execute explosive plays on offense.

I don’t expect the Lions get a miraculous comeback even though they haven’t quit when faced with adversity.

Congratulations because the Commanders had an excellent performance in Detroit, and they’ve gotten back to the NFC Championship game for the first time in 33 years which is going back to when WWE was competing with WCW, and VHS’s were getting sold.

Coach Quinn proving that 1 man can make a great difference after getting other strong additions to a very improved Commanders team.

Jayden Daniels is a fkn beast. I knew he was good but I did not expect this from him out of the gate.

Lions had a great season, but it’s gonna be hard for them if they lose Johnson and Glenn. They picked an awful game to have 4+ turnovers, but defensively it feels like the injuries just finally caught up to them tonight.

I’m stuck in a hard place. Was rooting for Detroit but now am just hoping for anyone other than KC.

I get that, but then who. It’s not college; there’s not 250+ teams with multiple QBs to try to pull a replacement from. What I mentioned is, essentially, who’s there and it’s an extremely underwhelming group available this year (short of something bizarre like the Seahawks front office having multiple, simultaneous strokes the day before signing a new contract for Geno Smith).

Those are unfortunately the options and they’d have to pick one to move away from Goff this offseason.

(As a sidenote: they’ve watched Hooker practice all year and he’s gotten game snaps…and their feelings seem fairly clear, given they decided to bring in another QB to be the backup, instead, for the end of the season and the playoffs.)

With tonight’s results:

- 15 of the 16 NFC teams have appeared in the NFC Championship Game since 1996. The one team that hasn’t? The Dallas Cowboys.

- 13 of the 16 AFC teams have appeared in the NFC Championship Game since 1992. The three that haven’t? The Miami Dolphins (last appearance 1992), the Cleveland Browns (1989), and the Houston Texans (0).

(Fun fact: The Texans are the only AFC team without a conference championship game appearance…the Seattle Seahawks have more AFC Championship Game appearances than the Texans)

I'm sure it's eating Jerry alive that Washington went from 4-13 the worst team in the NFC East and tied for second worst record in the NFL to NFC Championship in 1 season.
