Was that Rainbow Six? Can't remember. R6 was the last book I read, of his. Dude has some inside information.

International anti-terrorist team run by John Clark. Underlying story is some greeny utopians want to reboot the earth by introducing an ebola variant to wipe out most of the earth's population except the chosen few. (very Moonraker in that regard)

as with any Clancy novel, he builds the story for close to 300 pages, perhaps more.

he kind of lost me when when he spent 400 pages explaining how to build a nuclear bomb in sum of all fears. i find myself skipping entire sections. without remorse is still one of my favorite books though.

They're in the early process of making a movie. I had read somewhere the young Kelly/Clark was to be played by Joaqin Phoenix. I hope not...that doesn't fit for me.

i always thought it'd be a great movie, but you definetely worry they'll change the ending and try to moralize it.

I remember reading in Businessweek that many Chinese cities have vast tracts (upwards of 50%) of completely vacant office/commercial buildings.

It's all show.

Great book. The compression chamber episode is fantastic. Clark is just a bad man. Rivals the real Jason Bourne.
