Because they have no friggin clue how this works.

ncaa has been looking to make someone an example when it comes to these street agents. lyles gave them more than they could ever ask for. i honestly think they get worse sanctions than SC. unless they fire kelly before the season and fall on their sword.

Will be interesting to see how quickly this plays out and how long the Ducks ride it out with Kelly.

Nike's money isn't why Oregon is in trouble.

It's the fact that Chip Kelly is a moron that has Oregon in trouble.

That's like saying "Pilot money is why Tennessee is in trouble" when Pearl and Kiffin are the reasons why.

Here, here

From the interviews I saw, I kinda liked Chip Kelly. I dont get the pleasure out of this like I did with tOSU.

Didn't either, until the duck fans came here with their opinions. Now I very much do. Burn baby burn!!!

I heard it was in Malaysia, next door to Tebow's House of Foreskin.

That's actually a Nike colony. If you ever get an invitation to visit the mothership, take up the offer. Nike World HQ is an incredible facility.

yup. lots of duck fans pissed at him. guy is just doing his job.
Again, it's because he's the only guy on the whole radio station who doesn't constantly slob the Ducks.

I see it being along the lines of what Bama got a decade ago -- including further violations resulting in a death penalty (which the NCAA apparently seriously considered with Bama then).

The most they could ever pin on SC was willful ignorance of what was going on after they already had Reggie Bush, and even that was a stretch (still punishable under NCAA rules, though). The pile of shiz Oregon just stepped in is much, much worse.

I see this same scenario. The Bama coaches were never implicated in the Means crap. Just Boosters acting on behalf of Alabama

Oregons coaches were involved and the Oregon AD denying any wrongdoing is just making it worse.

IMO, they should immediately suspended Kelly, and begin the process of an internal investigation to show the NCAA that they are at least aware that what they did was wrong

Too much to quote, but I think it's ridiculous to believe that Nike is involved in this. There's no way they would risk their reputation on some recruits.

According to ESPN, Cal and LSU also bought Lyles' services. Sorry for not having the link, it is on the ESPN home page.

May not mean anything, except perhaps more problems of UO. If they paid 6 grand and got actual recruiting tapes of actual 2010 recruits before the actual 2010 NSD, then that makes OU's 25 grand for outdated material, provided after NSD look all the worse.

Just spit-balling here...

Why ruin that reputation that includes such wonderful things as inner-city kids murdering each other for a pair of shoes and sweatshops full of kids making their shoes?

This is very damning for the Ducks, IMO.
