Chip Kelly stepping down from UCLA to become Ohio State OC

Not necessarily. The AD, who really needs to go, wanted to keep him, and the school didn't want to pay the $9mil buyout. They were stuck with him for at least another year.
Good points and likely true. I was thinking likely at the end of this season. I meant he was feeling some heat and found a good opportunity to bolt. I'm a true luckeye/bucknut hater but it is a good gig.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. Just lost his QB to the transfer portal and it’s well known that he hates recruiting. College football needs to be fixed.

I think the California recruiting base is a bit oversold. They got some skill players out there certainly, and there are exceptions but overall California players/people are soft compared to Southerners.
There was a time when Boise State made a living off under the radar california players.

Blah, blah, blah… Chip Kelly. The important arguments in the greater Los Angeles area are

UCLA cheer squad > Song Girls
The Underwear Run - good, bad, etc.
