That doesn't make sense. A team with a ton of PFs isn't going to draft him in the first place because they don't need him. If he gets drafted, it will be by a team that actually needs a PF.

A lot of times in the second round they just take the best player available, which is why many don't end up on the roster.

That's usually the case during the entire draft process. Maybe the grizzlies will take another guard this year after sending Thabeet to the D league.

Why are you trying to use logic in this discussion? It never works.

Yea, I'm sure a GM never considers his current roster while making draft selections in the second round.

Just go for the best available player even if you know you have no need there and he won't make your roster. Makes perfect sense.

That's the sign of great GMs. Just randomly select guys that in no way fit your roster or your style of play just because they're on Jay Bilas' best available list and then release them from your team because you already have too many players at that position.

It's funny though Law, last time I proved you and Hat wrong on a draft topic it kinda started the same way as this thread.

The Hawks desperetly needed a big man last year, but they drafted 2 point gaurds. One of which they knew wasn't going to make the team (Gladyr).

I really don't see how Wayne doesn't make it in the NBA. He's got legitimate size, good feet, a willingness to play defense, and a natural stroke. I'm not saying he'll be a star, or even a starter, but if you look at the player he should develop into in three years there should definitely be a rotation spot for him in the league.
