It was a very Clinton-esqe "apology" just like this letter he was forced by his boss to do it.Why should Fowler have to apologize more than once for his comment 9 years ago? You all don't forgive very well.
Did I say you should thank him? Point out anywhere where I said that. I just think that Chris Fowler could donate $1,000,000 to charity, and you'd say "He's a loser. Wahhhhhhh wahhhhhh wahhhhh."
I don't like Fowler, but not because 9 years ago he said something stupid. If people hated every single one of us for 9 years for saying something stupid, we'd all be friendless.
i'll 2nd that....fowler is & will always be a idiot...a 1st class JERK!:the_finger:He addressed the issue because his boss told him to.
If you all think everything he just wrote was out of the goodness of his heart well, for lack of a better term your stupid.
Some of you all are very soft hearted. I give him no respect, nor do i give two ***** about this letter.
It is what he says on a weekly basis. I stand by my original analysis: Chris Fowler Sucks Balls!!
I think the true test of how much of a PR move this is is whether it get repeated ON-AIR this sat! Ive got a feeling a shorter version will get mention. Call me a cynic, but I wouldnt be suprised.
At first glance I liked his letter... the fact it acknowledges marketing had everything to do with the decision rather than what was the most important game.
But the more I think about it... this is only more marketing. In other words, gee, sorry we didn't show your game - but keep watching gameday SEC fans - we realize your passion for the game and want to keep promising Chevrolet, Budweiser, etc. that the millions of you will keep tuning in.
This is the bit that caught my eye. Gee, there must be a good reason they won't be able to showcase many Pac10 games. Wonder why? Blame it on time zones all you won't, but could the true reason be there's no competition out there? Makes me wonder how USC finds itself near the top of the polls year in and year out though.Executive vice president Norby Williamson asked me to relay his reasoning: Nebraska and USC, both visible programs with storied pasts, are colliding for the first time in 35 years, and this might be one of the few chances to showcase a Pac-10 location, keeping the show regionally balanced.
