I am not knocking Leak (not right now anyway) but does anyone know how many of those record number of consecutive completions were the Utah shuffle pass?

Not that this answers the particular question, but Leak was not too good outside the pocket.

It's sad I had the oportunity to make it.

I like Ainge and think that he is MUCH better than he looked.

Just hope he gets it turned around.

Just give ol' Eric a little time...he'll be JUST FINE. And then we'll have two very good QBs.

This is good info. Nobody gives Cooter a chance, have you noticed? What about Bo?

I had to quit giving Cooter a chance when I got married.

As for Bo, I think they call him "Duke Boy". They say he makes his way the only way he knows how. :whistling:

I've heard that too, but I think the reason he doesn't get any playing time is that's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

That may be why I might never get married.

Thanks to everyone who posted a little bit of the "Dukes of Hazzard" song, I can't get that song out of my head now.... Anyway Chris Leak had 26 completions for 320 yards, that comes out to an average of a little over 12 yards. His longest pass was 63 yards, so I would have to say there were a few short passes

His lack of playing time is due to a lack of that "killer instinct". Coaches are quoted as saying "He's just a good ol' boy; never meaning no harm".

He also has an aversion to playing in hilly terrain. I guess he's afraid that someday the mountains might get him . . . but of course the law never will.

He's also voiced his displeasure with the offensive coordinator.

The reports are that he has been fightin the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

I'm sure the coaches and Athletic department are glad to hear that off the field issues are not a concern with this one. :birgits_giggle:

I don't know the answer to that question, though I would assume a fair proportion of the 17 were short passes. I can tell you he completed a total of 26 for 320 yards, which is an average of 12.3 per catch. I imagine some part of that is RAC yards, but that's sort of the point of the spread option, isn't it? Still, 17 in a row is impressive for Game 1 of the season, under a new system.

I daresay that neither Clausen nor Ainge could complete 10 in a row if they were throwing in no wind, 70 degrees, to a guy ten feet in front of them, with no one else on the field. At least one of thge first five by Clausen would be in the dirt.

And Ainge would probably make the first two and then sail one over the guy's head by 60 yards. What is it, he got a nervous twitch in that shoulder that just flings those things around? Someone needs to tell him they ain't boomerangs.

Face it, Fulmer would give up fried food if he could have Leak on the UT team and we know what that means to him.

Easy there killer - I seem to remember a few games in the last 2 years where your boy was in way over his head - he has had one game with 17 completitons - most likely he will have another this weekend but he SHOULD - the first game was against Wyoming - and your second against La Tech - I don't think I would be talking this way after a win over those 2 teams. YES leak looked good and would I take him on my team - Maybe - but if I recall ainge played pretty damn well vs. leak last year!!! :aggressive:

I always enjoy your posts . . . mainly because your avatar ironically depicts perfectly the flaw in Chris Leak's delivery.
