Chris Lofton ESPN short story

Replace Admiral with Yarborough and that list is perfect imo. Admittedly I was 5 when Yarborough averaged 18 his senior year, so I’m probably wrong.
Admiral and Victor were the other 2, I considered. Tobias and Haislip, also, but only one year cost 'em, imo. I know, I overlooked the one year thing with Knecht, but consensus 1st team all-America, changed my mind

Kind of fitting that another world class undervalued out of HS guard with a big heart, courage, and class will be the last guy to wear that number 5, EVER.

Has any school ever had the same jersey retired twice? Probably won’t, but he gets my vote. Side by side would be sweet.

He is definitely on MY TOP favs list and I have been watching from early Mears.

As a side note, my granddaughter is a FR this year and they share some timing issues and a love of Chick Filet (sp) and she has given him the good human stamp of approval and she is a tough and good judge of character. Multiple but only dealings with ZZ, but they are on speaking terms.

As far as Lofton, don’t know how many UT hats he signed as a BB player, but I have one. Had I been born 4 months earlier I would have gone home to Maysville Ky., not Knoxville. My late Father, after 50+ years was invited back for a celebration at an institution during Chris’s ordeal, and the locals obtained and presented him with it that day. It is in the room with my cherished Vol collection that includes some Neyland turf, and a picture of John Ward. Kind of picky.

Lofton really did help bring basketball back. I remember his senior year and was wondering what was going on as he was so clutch his sophomore and junior year. Absolutely my favorite player in the pearl era.
