Chris Low Says he believes zero chance that Gruden comes

I agree. We get it. Normally it's a long shot. But we have a few tricks up our sleeves in this specific case.

Nevertheless, the more I think about the way the NCAA tries to keep it's plantation workers in line....enrich the boss, but don't dare try to make anything on the side for themselves. Not even trade or sell their own belongings for some extra spending cash or a tat (OSU/Tressel)....the more I can see why Gruden might get cold feet. Players and coaches alike have to walk this ridiculous tightrope, or suffer the crack of the whip.

Coaches at the College level have to endure a LOT more BS than NFL coaches...all because of the damn NCAA, and their fake "Amateur Athletics" BS. Can't wait until the super conferences decide to tell the NCAA their services are no longer needed.

I don't think this is too much further in the future.

I can see why he'd think that. How many schools and teams have thought they'd have a shot a Gruden in the past? Many people believe that Gruden would never coach college ball no matter what school it is, so I can see that angle. UT is making him so NO though to a very generous offer. Time will tell and Low will be 100% right or wrong.
And we got "The Sheriff" (as Gruden calls him) leading point. I think it's tempting enough that he very well may just get on board.

It's kind of a double-edged sword. He likes coaching/teaching, and he'd have a bigger impact with College talent than he would in the NFL. He'd be MUCH more respected and revered at the College level. He'd also be able to shop for his own groceries, as Parcells would put it. Kiffin said the same thing.

In the NFL, you have this big build up to the draft, just to wait in line...to pick one player in the 1st Rd. In College, you can recruit a dozen 1st Rd. talented players....as long as you got the right product to sell them with.

However, the tradeoff is that you have this huge egomaniac Plantation Owner to deal with (NCAA), and he's harsh on both the Cotton Pickers and their foremen, so to speak. I think it's submitting himself to work under the Plantation owner that is going to be the deal-breaker, if it does go south.

Basically every big job that opens up, all the fans think they can get Gruden. Arkansas did it this year. We have thrown his name out before too.

Same goes for Petersen. Happens every single time.

There are a lot of names on these lists that aren't coming. They're happy where they are and will simply parlay all the mania into salary bumps and extensions at their current schools, just like Lucky Les did. Other schools are going to take some of these more realistic names off the table, while UT and Arky hope for Gruden, Stoops, Gundy, Patterson, Petersen, Mora or Kelly. Miracles happen, but they're long shots.

And yes, for all the grammar and spelling Nazis out there, I felt I had to clarify that I know his name is HYAMS but it felt better to write Hyman.
