I get a feeling some folks "close to the program" are putting out "information" with the express intent of making the Athletic Director look bad. Parrish has always been one of Pearl's biggest cheerleaders among the press. Don't buy this report at all.

Edit: Looking at the report again, it isn't as offbase as I initially thought. Still not sure why anyone "close to the program" would be putting this out there.

That's what I was thinking. I doubt Mack was ever a serious candidate.

Like I said in another thread, who makes an offer without sitting down and talking to someone first? Am I wrong Hat? Seems far-fetched (i.e. made-up) given that Parrish said Mack wouldn't even listen.

He's also passing on Goodman's info that we've reached out to Shaka Smart and Donnie Jones. Not so sure about those either.

If the report said Mack declined to discuss the job with UT and the 8 yrs, 2 mil per were the parameters Parker Search said Tennessee was looking at providing to the new coach, I might buy it. I just don't buy that UT immediately offered the job to Mack.

Edit: After rereading the report, I can believe it. Misread things the first time.

There is a mole on the Search committee that keeps leaking info to Mike Griffith and other media. Before it's over it will look like we can't get a coach. So and so is Tennessee's 19th choice.

I am of the opinion that some within the athletic department and/or administration would like to impetuously speed up the process. Though this wouldn't help in finding a new coach.

Griffith's list is probably one that he made up himself.

Doubt it would be anyone on the search committee that would be leaking the info.

Maybe, or the person might just like making writer32 look like the fool that he is.

Personally, I think he just came up with 5 names off the top of his head.

Looks like Tn will have to go down to the NAIA level to get a coach.I think its going to be real hard for Tn to come up with that splash hire that its going to take to get the fan base excited.
Hat if Tn doesnt make the right hire what do you think happens as far as MH goes ?I think if they bring an unknown or unproven coach TBA will be empty next season.I will hang up a listen.

I was saying mh was doing a good enough job making himself look bad. He knows it, which is why he started leaking some stuff lately about BP.
